Thanks for the crit! I agree with you that the bottom part of the hair doesnt have the same sort of quality over all. I honestly wasnt entirely sure how to shade and highllight it with the idea I was going for with it being spread out under her. I also have a nasty habit of over highlighting sometimes, I think thats what happened here. Another thing to try and get better with. :D

The hair highlight is too much indeed, but you could tone it down with an extra layer later of shadows or something. Or just adjust the highlight layer transparency.
For the bottom hair, it shows you didn't know which way you were going. I'd say imagine hair, and implement curls and all, then follow them for the highlights. You may just hint them.
I'd say once you've done the highlights, make it transparent at 10~20% tone it down a lot, then on a new layer, toss in a few shimmers of light to highlight.
