We come across Taylor in her first book when she's already in the twilight years of her teenage phase. We never do get to read much about her younger life as a little girl or young preteen except in rare flashbacks. It's a stage of her life that I constantly want to come back to as needed for the narrative to help explore and show how Taylor became the adult wolf that she is when we first meet her. So, small moments in time like this picture where her mother, Murana, most likely took her to the beaches north of Zabokar to enjoy the sun and the ocean waters are true treasures. I'd picture young Taylor here in her tweens having a blast in the sand, Ahya enjoying all the fun as well. A precious moment of respite and joy in her life prior to the negative bits that would follow after. Here, she is having carefree.
