Darkness had taken over the town of Taikoyama by the time Larc and Rip-Raff returned to the pokemon center. What the pair of lycanthropes found as they entered through the destroyed side of the building made both of their hearts stop, as there within the lobby was their beta stood nursing his bandaged arm while laughing with Nurse Joy. Both lycanthropes immediately raced over to Carl; the young man barely having enough time to turn to see the were-lucario and midnight lycanroc as he was all but tackled by them. Carl then gasped as two broad tongues swept over his face and neck.

“My, your pokemon seem to have been really worried about you.” Nurse Joy said with a cheeky smile while at the same time taking a careful step back from the massive canines which were whimpering desperately up at the younger man.

“Haha, yeah.” Carl scratched the back of his head and then laughed somewhat nervously while hoping and praying to Arceus that the pink haired woman would continue to let slide the fact that there was something really bizzare about his two oversized ‘pokemon’. “They can get really protective of me, whenever they aren’t fighting with one another.”

“Have you had them for very long?”

“One’s been with me all my life,” he said while nodding to the lucario who was kneeling next to him while hugging his chest. “the other is a something of a newcomer.” Carl chuckled even as Rip-Raff’s broad tongue brushed over across his lips, the threat of said tongue pushing into his mouth was a very real fear that made him clench his teeth together, much to the red and white wolf’s sorrow.

“Well, please make sure not to do anything so reckless next time, as you wouldn’t want them to be without your permanently, right?” Nurse Joy said while shyly laughing behind a raised hand.

“Yeah.” Carl whispered as he leaned his head in to nuzzle both his brother and his other alpha, right before he let out a loud yawn.

“It’s getting pretty late.” Nurse Joy reminded everyone in a worrisome tone. “Do you think you’ll make it to a hotel tonight?”

“Uhhhh…” Carl tried to think of how to best answer that question as the memory of why exactly he and his alphas were there within the town in the first place crept up into his mind.

“It’s alright. You’re welcome to stay here for the evening.” Carl turned to say something to the nurse but was interrupted by her. “Don’t worry. We’ve had trainers stay her for a few days while their pokemon recovered, so the least that I can offer is the lobby couch to you and your pokemon for the evening. After all, you three are today’s heroes.” Nurse Joy reminded Carl as her Chansey came over with the bag of pokeballs that Rip-Raff had dropped by the hole in the wall.

“If you’re sure, then we’d be grateful for the offer.” Carl admitted shyly, his mind ever on the interactions of his two alpahs and the blooming moon outside.

“Alright then. I’ll have Chansey bring out some blankets for you.” with that Nurse Joy turned to see about the pokemon who had been nearly captured by Team Rocket.

“Thank you.” Carl said even as his brother lifted his muzzle up to kiss him on the mouth. Thankfully no one was there at the time to see him melt as he unconsciously opened his mouth for his twin.
