Kaa'Leyuua, Maiden of the Vortex
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Well, you're used to seeing me draw some buff, muscle-clad hunks, but how about a sexy, svelte Thalassian chick, for a change? ^^
This is a quasi-speedpaint of Kaa'Leyuua, Draa'Vor's younger sister. Though nowhere near as cold and indifferent as her sibling, her power is still more than enough to rival his, and she's as much of a badass as she looks. Using her staff, and her amazing double-channeling abilities, she protects her village from attackers. She's pretty much a one-woman army. ;)
This was originally supposed to be a two-hour piece, but my perfectionism got the best of me in the end, and it ended up becoming a regular piece. I've been working on this one side-by-side with my current commission; this piece was also an experiment to determine if working on a few things simultaneously bolsters my creativity. It does. By having a few projects to work on, I keep myself from blocking, by avoiding becoming bored with a piece. My creativity goes up, and I get more pieces out...winning!

Makes me want my own Shark OC, instead of just myself shifting...
Honestly, I really like the transformation aspect of your main sona. It would help your character to adapt to a variety of different conditions, for one, but from an artistic standpoint, it's fun to translate your zona's main features to other species. Of course, an extra shark sona on the side wouldn't hurt, either. More sharks for the world, I say. :)
i can see ana on the back of a giant manta, riding it either upright or hanging onto one of its fins or something. just.. heh awesome
Heh...I had a lot of fun coming up with her name. It's actually a corruption/elaboration of the Hawaiian name, Kalei (or rather, the "Kalia" variant); I made it Thalassian by exaggerating the vowels and adding the stutter. :3
