Major surgery because of a broken leg in an accident. Here's how it happened:

I'm shocked! Please never grab the neck or collar of a dog. This was your fault and you paid for it. To get him, call his name and be playful. That's how I do it for my dog. Don't get me wrong, but I like you; but, please be a little nicer to your dog?

Well what would you do if he was trying to dominate the cats you love? I tell you a story of another dog. I was working at a grocery store and this female dog got loose from the place she had been tied down. I happened to see her at the far end. I had to be very slow and careful so she wouldn't run into the street. Then some other co-worker asked what I was doing and I told them. I then saw her move and had to move quickly. Got the leash but if I had to I would have gone for the collar if need be. May be different circumstances, but why do we do it? For the better of our dogs.

It's ok, I've already done my fair share of blaming myself, but what you have to understand is that Rocky is 80 pounds of pure muscle. You can't just call him with a friendly voice and expect him to listen, you have to order him as the Alpha or restrain him. He doesn't respect anything else. There are 100 pound softies out there, sure, but they were raised properly. We didn't get to raise Rocky, we got him from the shelter, where he'd been surrendered twice for being too hard to manage... so what we have is an unruly musclehead who wants to chase everything and will blow past anything to do it, and we've actually got him a LOT better behaved than how he was when we got him 2 years ago.

That said, what the vets told us is that this was a freak accident. It was just the wrong angle at the wrong time, and would probably never happen again. Rocky started going after Slendy in an overly aggressive way, I reacted, he fought against me and broke his leg. It wasn't something that anyone had planned... it was just life taking a shit. It was an accident... but we move on, we learn, and heal.

I understand Sir. He does look like a wild child. LOL.
