opportunity for families to break cycles of violence, heal, and move forward.<\/p>\n<p>Second Stage shelters offer long-term, safe accommodation and accompanying services. SOFIA House delivers essential programs that support women and children fleeing violence. Historically families entered our program through first stage shelters after receiving short term, crisis intervention and supports. While families continue to enter our program from emergency shelters, SOFIA House also receives many referrals from women out in the community. Second Stage shelters provides an opportunity for individuals and families to enter directly into safe, long term accommodations before crisis services are necessary.<\/p>\n<p>We continue to evaluate programming to meet the current needs of clients.
