I like FOSS, like a lot 🙏 Ask me about self hosting whatever! Ordered a Pilet 7 and a new Pebble recently for more future fun experiments and always down to talk about modern tamagotchis, nvim, Debian, or Kubernetes

Groggy post-op selfie Cw: tired eye contact
Proof of life :3 I have to stay at least overnight for observation, but everything seems to be going well, and I might get to leave tomorrow evening!
I complained that the hospital gown wasn't fashionable and they let me change into my pizza hoodie

I did the LGBTQ+ meetup but I was then completely drained and unable to do the neurodivergent meetup 😓 I tried! If you met me at the LGBTQ meetup, or maybe you didn't meet me and wanted to, please feel free to follow me here

I am getting surgery on Thursday, 26th of March 2026, so if you need me, but I am not responding, that is why. I will be around, but less responsive for a couple of weeks after surgery. Wish me luck!
Canceled my Kagi subscription :) Told them how their love of AI is a big reason why I'm canceling. Their customer support never responded to me on turning off the AI in their firefox extension btw. Why would I pay monthly for a search engine that doesn't have any special features?

I will definitely be at some Prometheus talks and also the LGBTQ+ community gathering.
I will do my best to go to the ND meetup, but I am low on spoons with surgery tomorrow, and having been at a loud and stressful con for 3 days socializing so much. I am doing my best though!
Goofy selfie with low rent SUSE chameleon (cw: eyecontact from me)
I love photos with mascots so much.

Met a lot of cool people at the Merge + Meet: Kickoff Meeting for Underrepresented Groups and Allies meetup at KubeCon, but couldn't scan everyone's badge and exchange info. If you didn't get a chance, please feel free to add me here, and we'll get a coffee sometime together after I recover from surgery in a few weeks
I'll also be at the queer meetup and nuerodivergent meetups!
(Apologies for how horribly awkward I am btw. I really do love meeting people 🙏 )

Gearing up for another day at Kubecon!
Alright fedi, I have another one for you.
What's your favorite Linux tablet (or tablet that I can install Linux on) that you draw on? I'm specifically looking for something I can run Krita on and use for that purpose, but I would also use it for reading ebooks/comics.
It has to be fully independent, so no computer required. It has to have to have an HD screen. It has to run Linux, preferably Debian, as that's my favorite. It can't just be an android tablet unless it's possible to install Linux on it.
For context, I'm going to give up my ipad with apple pencil and want to replace that experience.
Bonus points if it comes with a stylus, but if not, please recommend one.

If anyone is curious, I typically wear fresh FFP2 masks on the daily for everything except extremely small trips to the take out the trash (for those I wear a cloth mask, because there's typically no one around). I change them every single day, and I also change them if there's too much condensation, I get wet for any reason e.g. rain, or if I just feel gross because it's really hot out. During cons, or if I have to go somewhere crowded like the IND, I wear FFP3 masks.
This con is my first con going out into the world unnecessarily outside of a brief trip to trans pride (which was entirely outdoors) last year. It's a huge step for me to attend an indoor con again, and the only reason I feel safe doing it is that I am fully boosted and I wear the most protective mask I can afford. This is my first con in over 6 years. FFP3s are amazing btw. I can't even smell cigarette smoke, which is a joy. If FFP3s weren't like €20 for a pack of 5 😭, I would buy them exclusively and be a lot more social.
Right now it literally feels too expensive to do social things at crowded events safely. I hate that.
Kubecon group photo, includes eye contact
Met up with my coworkers at Kubecon, but we couldn't find a branded place to take a photo to prove we were at the con for our employer, so we squatted down by the badge pickup desk in the middle of the day when it wasn't busy.
I'm in the "Beyond GitOps: Building Intelligent Drift Detection and Auto-Remediation in Argo CD - Ram Mohan Rao Chukka, JFrog & Shibi Ramachandran, ING" talk now, but I may be spent after this. I will be here again tomorrow and Wednesday if anyone wants to say hi :)

Look at this fun no-AI webring!

I think it's silly when people feel the need to say they're "not an AI hater". It's OK, man. AI isn't in the room. It can't hear you. It isn't even real.
