October of this year saw the release of The Wizard’s Scroll II, the second issue of a White Box Fantastic Medieval Adventure Game (FMAG) zine whose first and, until now, only issue was released by Charlie Mason, the creator of FMAG, back in 2016.

This issue was edited by Timothy Fox, with content from himself and a host of authors and artists who are active in the FMAG Facebook group. It’s nicely laid out, and has about 100 pages of gaming content, supplemented with real, honest-to-goodness human-drawn art.
There is a ton of useful content here – several new classes and adventure settings, two adventures, maps, a bestiary, lots of house rules, some poetry, a recipe, and even a Druidic song, complete with sheet music and a link to a beautiful solo harp performance. One of the adventures comes with some oracle tables that can be used in solo or GM-less games.
The appendix has a collection of tables useful for quick generation of NPC or PC names, traits, stats and backgrounds. It’s all wonderfully creative, and it’s so nice to see more content in this style written for existing games. The Wizard’s Scroll II is available as a PWYW PDF on DriveThru, and there are six reasonably priced versions available on Lulu.
