All returned filters will be inspected to determine usability. MERV values vary from 1 to 16. According to NAFA (National Air Filtration Association), the minimum efficiency rating for residential applications is MERV 6. Our <a href=\"https:\/\/smithfilter.com\/product\/pleated-filter\/\">pleated disposable filters<\/a> are rated at MERV 8, and are designed for this application. Adding a light layer of the filter spray on a new filter, and after every wash, will increase the initial dust holding capacity of the filter. Type 304 steel is easier to form and weld than 430 stainless steel. Type 430 stainless steel is made up of 17 percent chromium and 0.12 percent carbon, while 304 stainless steel contains 18 percent chromium and 0.08 percent carbon. Type 430 stainless steel is ideal in the production of automotive trim, the insides of clothes dryers and dishwashers.
