Smart Protector Pro

Smart Protector Pro is a system security and privacy tool. Also known as Internet Eraser, this application makes sure that your system doesn't contain any files that might compromise your privacy.

When you visit websites, your system keeps files called "cookies", which are supposed to make your experience faster and smoother by keeping some information about you and your system. These files can often be used to see what websites you have browsed provide you with ads. Cookies are the types of files that Smart Protector Pro can get rid of. It can also erase your history, temporary Internet files, index.dat files, Windows Temp folder, Recycle Bin, Recent documents, Windows Search History, auto-complete forms and usernames and passwords.

Smart Protector Pro first carries out a quick scan of your system and it tells you what files have been found that can be deleted safely. The scan is actually a test. The main window shows a log of everything that will be done during the actual erasing of those files. If you are willing, the "erase" button will delete the files permanently. I personally like the "file shredding". This feature deletes your files securely so that they can't be recovered. The application can use two different shredding standards, one with 3 passes and the other with 7, for extra security.
