[eta:] 2009 anime summer list.

for my personal reference, first episoding:

Aoi Hana - the manga it's based on is fairly well done. Maaaybe.
Bakemonogatari - firsting it at least, because SHAFT does creepy? wtf.
CANAAN - okay, I admit it, I'm in it for the title, shut up.

...and, yeah, that's it. Maybe also Needless, but might be too gratuitous for me. Considering how huge my backlog is, this is no great shakes.

I HAVE A PHONE BACK AND THUS INTERNET AND I REJOICE. Actually, I had a phone and internet back awhile ago, but then capturing of last years tapes started. Which kind of killed my desire to look at a computer screen for very long afterwards. Today, however, we get to go do our scouting thing and then knock off, and tomorrow I get to go to the Exploritorim to see their newest exhibit with the family in town.

Last day, happiness meme.

1. Went and saw Benjamin Button at the Cerrito. Not denying it wasn't good...but I swear, I would have cut a good half hour out if I was the damn editor, because fuck me if the first hour did nothing but bore me after the premises were introduced.

2. Today I was reminded I have a extra day off on Monday. Fuck yeah, extra day off.

3. The model in figure drawing did not look like my middle school principal. (The one on Monday did. It was kind of awkward.) I have a feeling I will think of her as the holistic one: she usually shows up in a overdress and loose pants, and she has a meditation cushion as part of her props and she uses mudras in her poses.

One more day of class this week. I have been all over mostly useless over it, but hopefully I can be a semi-dignified lump about it tomorrow. I need to keep practicing drawing faces. My proportions and body bits are slowly getting...less horrible...but my faces still make me twitch. Also going to be kicking out a day of scripting, I think. I hope.

Happiness meme day...7/8? Home stretch!

1. Three shows done today, maybe I can make it 5 tomorrow so Ed has a stack to give to Correy.
2. This is probably overwelhmingly dorky, but I desire this now. I wish they'd chosen Come As You Are instead of Smells Like Teen Spirit, but hey. Can't complain about the rest.
3. Slept well! Felt okay all day.

...also cried like whoa over this, but well. That's not a surprise, really.

1. Apparently they make Leonaidus chocolate bars. Old meme is old, but still tasty.

Belated happiness meme, day 5/8.

1. FANDOM EXPLOSION day. I got so much new releases today. 07-Ghost, Tenjo Tenge scanslations, last episode of Xam'd, that other new motormech canon that isn't Rideback. Mmm, delicious new things.

2. Intro'd Sonken at Micro last night. I has back my spirt baby emperessor. \o/

3. Went to Japantown yesterday, stayed under budget. Got Saint Young Men 2 (vol. 3 out on the 22nd of March according to the back of the tankubon) a backissue of Zerosum so I can maybe get translations of Amatsuki after I scan it tonight, Haikurga v. 1, Mushishi 6, and origami paper for my little cousin.

4. Curry katsudon craving satisfied! Mmm, curry katsu.

...I should go get ready for class now.

Happniess meme: day 4/8.

1. Went to tea with pepole! It was not what I would call the most formal high tea I've ever seen, but it was a fun tea set. Definitely doing that again at some point in a month or two: would be best to set up in even numbers because there's not a ton of room and more then four at a table is really pushing it. I hope they have ensemada next time, they had it on their menu but not in the case.
2. Went through the bookstore with everyone after tea. I should be good for a good...week or two. Hello, reading habits.
3. Also found a copy of Ar Toncielo! I am intrigued by what I hear of the music and the subtext. I can has something to try after I finish my tests.
4. ...which are due tomorrow so I can do them slowly now. /o/

belated happniess meme for yesterday:

1. It was Thursday. Thursday is like friday insofar as I don't have class on Friday, just homework.
2. I saw one hint of blue sky poking through a long grey cloud shaped like a dragon. That was pretty cool.
3. I slept a good 9.5 hours. Mmmm sleep.
