1. Phone possibly lost today. Let me know if someone weird called you on my number.
2. Yaoicon--let me know here if you're going for sure/not for sure. Currently, we're full, so I'm not accepting more people into the room, but I'll let people know if there's spaces after the first check.
As always: this is your LJ in which you are wasting your life away one click at a time. Go forth, be polite, but this is your forum too. If you like the idea or not, the yea or nay is right there.
Disccon was a lot of fun. Cons in Arizona have the best hotel suites.
All and all, mostly I just feel older then I did last year. I know normally your birthday is for that sort of thing, but really, this is usually the time of year it hits me more, I think. Timing, I guess. I think I will update with my con haul and my bookreading (as it was mostly manga) of the past while soon, but I think I'll go play more Devil Summoner right now.
The Yaoicon room will probably--probably! be about 40 dollars a person. I am not reserving another room because I see no reason to at this point, but it does mean that we are effectively full. Unless someone wants to take stewardship of another room, that is.
Also, if you're going to Yaoicon, hit this poll of what panels Ryuu and I (by extension of being discussion helper) should bid up.
The Fanime rooms(s) will be about 55 dollars for Friday-Sunday night, assuming we cancel the second room because we only have one tentative over the limit. If we get more people, I'll recalculate, but I'd really like it to be more like 4 over the limit or something before we keep the second room. ANTICIPATE SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR: I suggest bringing extra bedding.
So, right. Yaoicon's on Halloween weekend again. dracoxk will be in NZ when it goes off this year, so I will...possibly? be in charge of the rooms. Drop a note if you need crashspace ASAP--I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with one room instead of two. This includes you, tentative people!
ANYONE ELSE IN THE BAY AREA: there is some sort of tea place not fifteen minutes walk from my apartment. I am thinking about trying it some Saturday. Would people be interested in February 7th? I kind of want to avoid Valentines Day for the usual reasons.
I am so not bothering with a con report. Here, look at my pictures instead. I think I said all the things I want to remember about this con already, anyway. And if you're interested in what I wasted my money on, here.
Overall, the trip was awesome. I dislike the fact that I can't find my pinstripe sweatshirt nor my notebook that I was doing my original stuff in, but eh, I can replace those. :/ And I got to see people excavating a dinosaur! For free! The LA Natural History museum is rad like that.
For anyone else that's interested, I'm going to see HB II at the California at 4:15 on Friday. I'm getting there early to pick up tickets, as the theater doesn't believe in online ticketing. Poke me here if you think you need me to get you a ticket.
- There are some people who are having birthdays this week! I hope they're awesome.
- Kind of running around doing a lot of thinking for That Film and kind of dealing with life being about 17% off angle, so not a lot of brainspace for spooling thoughts out onto journalbased blather, but a few updates on various things before I forget.
- Fanime: we're down to one room, no free space this year. Such is life. I may or may not be going: I have a badge, but since I am a baaasheep I'd rather check out AX a bit this year. Also, more importantly, I'm not 100% that I'm not going to be needed for filmstuff.
- Dead China Book club: once the filming is over (about May 11th or thereabouts), how about a once a week night of chatting (probably on #deadpaperosocial on lunarnet.org) starting at 5 PST? Tuesdays or Wendsdays work? Thursday and Friday nights are normally taken for me, so I'm partial to avoiding those. And archiving the log on LJ or the internets somewhere in case people have to mis a night? Anyone have any preferences on a starting book?
- [edit] DUHUR I ALMOST FORGOT I have a digital camera now and I am kind of trying to figure out if I want to pictureblog or not. I do have some random shots of stuff now. Like my new desktop. I don't know. Another thing to figure out when I'm not trying to weave eight interviews into harmony on paper.
I kind of want to shank a bitch re: next week's work schedule, but I can't deny that the money would be good, even if I'd like a little more free time.
PEOPLE. That is unspeakably horrible. More went wrong there than just the disrespect for their partnership, though it does do a lot to illustrate why everyone needs access to marriage.
