Slayer in San Antonio on 06/23/06 - Assault witnessed? |
[25 Jun 2006|10:15am] |
We went to the Freeman Coliseum Friday night in San Antonio, Tx, for the Slayer show (Unholy Alliance tour). Tickets were won from 101x in Austin by someone and sold to us, so I'm hoping that if anyone else won tickets they were in the same section as us and might have seen what happened.
The section was 126 right in of the first seats. For reference, section 125 would have been on the left of the area as you walked down into the arena.
We both were acting like all the other fans there and just having a good time jammin' out. Then, about 3 songs into Slayer's set, my boyfriend was jumped by about 3 or 4 cops (maybe more, I'm not sure) from behind, beaten down to the floor, pulled out and arrested. We have *no idea whatsoever* that could have triggered this as we were just standing there and looking at each other thinking how great this was.
So, please, if anyone was there or won tickets from 101x and sold them to someone that was there - if there's any way to contact who they might have been sold to, please let me know.
Also, if anyone knows of a good San Antonio LJ community to post this on, I'd be very grateful if you'd let me know of the link.
Also, in the scuffle we lost two of the shirts we purchased there - so that was $70. And the cops stole a bracelet he was wearing on his wrist, which my mother had given me 20 years ago. They didn't have that in his checked items at the station, so I'm assuming one of the guys liked it and decided to pocket it.
One last thing ... if anyone could recommend a pagan or pagan-friendly lawyer in Austin or in SA, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know that as well.
Thanks, y'all.

I'm Jeremy from NV, thought I'd join seeing as my LJ is pretty barren and I like Slayer. I've been listening to Slayer for a few years now, though I first heard their album Undisputed Attitude and thought it was shitty (not realizing of course that it is all covers.)
I saw Slayer live in November '03, they played all of the Reign in Blood, do they do that at every show now? But an interesting story comes a little later in May (I believe) of '04, when my friends and I went to another show where I guess Kerry King was attending. After the show, a friend of mine spotted him being escorted out by his little entourage. From what I could tell, he was REALLY wasted, he could hardly walk straight. My friend tried to talk to him, but he didn't really respond. Then later when we were sitting outside waiting for our ride, we saw him again. My friend ran after him before they got in their car (or limo whatever it might've been) and got Kerry King to sign a shoe he had stolen out of the lost shoe bin.

Come walk with me through endless time. See what has been and what the future sees. Share the wisdom of the old world that has passed, Step in a life that's yet to be born.
You spill the blood, Eternal soul.
I'll show you sights that you would not believe. Experience pleasures thought unobtained. At one with evil that has ruled before. Now smell the stench of immortality.
You spill the blood, Eternal soul.
[LEAD: HANNEMAN]
Spill your blood, let it run on to me, Take my hand and let go of your life. Close your eyes and see what is me, Raise the chalice, embrace for evermore.
You've spilt the blood. I have your soul.

Hi. My name is Lisa and I have been a huge Slayer fan for about 12 years (since I was about 10 years old.) My sister got me into them, and I have been hooked ever since. My favorite album is probably Seasons In The Abyss since that is the one that I heard first. I have seen Slayer 3 times, and I hope to see a lot more of them in the future...Anyway, I just thought I'd introduce myself and say hi to everyone. Are there any people from the Philly area in this community?

Hey. I'm new. Yippee. Aren't you excited? Name's Marc. I'm 18. I live in the fuckin boonies of the great state of Ohio. Slayer is absolute awesomeness, but I bet you already knew that. My favorite song is Raining Blood. My favorite album is Seasons in the Abyss, and is the only one I actually own. I've only seen Slayer in concert once, which was Ozzfest last year. I bet you also already know that I'm gonna tell you it was fuckin awesome. Lol. I plan to see them again whenever they come my way again, which hopefully will be soon. I've listened to Slayer and metal in general for over four years. I mostly listen to Black Metal, but I also enjoy a little Thrash, Death Metal, and Punk. I can't play any instruments, but I like to think I can sing. If you feel the need, add me and I'll be courteous and add you back. Just leave me a comment so I know what's goin down. xbloodxpurgex on AIM. Drop me a line anytime. Click here if you want to make money simply searching on the internet. Peace out.

Another newbie has come your way, and he is I.
My first name is Paul and I hail from Arizona. I have been listening to Metal since I was ten, I started off with White Zombie. I am a pretty big fan of Slayer and as a guitarist, I play more Slayer songs than anything else and aspire to be a "thrash metal" guitarist, which is also my metal sub-genre of choice, but I listen to many others, as well as a few other types of music I would rather not list.
This looks like a wicked community, and I guess I'll be around - hopefully I'll make a friend or two. If you're interested at all, just add me and I will immediately do the same for you.
