10 a.m. update:
You're gonna want to start your morning ripping the backside if you're looking for smooth carving. The frontside is skiing firm and gets harder as you descend. Groomed terrain close to the base is extra firm and hard to get an edge into. If you're looking to go off-piste skiing, prepare for very stiff turns this morning. Conditions should soften by the afternoon as everything heats up. There are some bare spots, so keep an eye out!
It's currently 26 degrees at the summit and is feeling more like 18 degrees with wind chill. Winds are blowing around 5-10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph. The sun is nice and warm and temps are feeling comfortable; I'd go so far to say it's feeling warmer this morning than it did yesterday.
I'm having even more of a blast this morning than usual, believe it or not; something fun is in the air. Get out here and have some fun yourself!
6:45 a.m. report:
These past few days have really felt like spring has arrived. The party continues today with more warm temps and sun!
Last night we didn’t get any fresh snow, and it looks like we have another springy day ahead of us. There may be more cloud cover today than in the past few days, but the sun should still be shining for most of the day. The high in the afternoon is 40 degrees at the summit and 45 degrees at the base. Might have to pop on my jorts for this weather.
West-southwest winds will be blowing around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph until midday brings faster speeds. By 4 p.m., we may be seeing wind speeds around 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Hold onto your helmets!
We are experiencing a freeze-thaw cycle on front-facing aspects that is causing firm conditions in the morning that soften by the afternoon. This melting is causing some thin spots to emerge close to the base. Please watch for exposed ground as well as some grooming irregularities! The backside, however, stays strong. It’s still skiing soft on the backside all day as the sun does not affect this aspect of the mountain as heavily as south-facing areas.
Safety is the name of the game out here on the hill. Please respect the Skier Responsibility Code and ski in control. In practice, skiing in control means that you’re skiing at a speed where you can stop at any time in a moment's notice and you feel comfortable on the terrain that you’re skiing!
It looks like temperatures are going to get a bit cooler in the coming days, and we may be getting some snow! This winter has had many fake springs and we may be in one right now. Whatever the forecast may bring, just know I won’t be complaining if we get more snow on the ground. I’m not done with winter quite yet!
I’m excited to get out there and see what today brings. Catch you on the flip side!
The snow report is a subjective assessment of terrain and weather conditions. Snowfall and snow depths are measured at the summit and base areas around 6 a.m. each day. Actual depths may vary across the mountain and change throughout the day. Always check with ski patrol if you need more information about skiing conditions.

If you go out of bounds ...
When you exit the marked boundaries of the resort, you are entering backcountry terrain where natural and human-caused avalanches can occur. The resort does not conduct avalanche mitigation on those slopes. Always check the Flathead Avalanche Center's daily avalanche forecast and carry a beacon, shovel and probe.
Stay safe out there!
