Guohua (Robert) Zhang

I am a teacher of English and linguist much influenced by Cognitive lingusitics and Construction Grammar. I earned my PhD in Contrastive linguistics from Huazhong Normal University in 2009 and sicne then I mainly did researches in relation to English and Chinese syntax from synchroic and diachronic perspectives, specifically, centering around ditransitive constructions in the two languages. I visited Lancaster University in UK and stayed for one year in 2011 doing research as a visiting research fellow under the joint mentorhip of Prof. Anna Siewierska and Prof. Geoffrey N. Leech. I did my post-doc research at Zhejiang University for three years from 2013 to 2016. I have strong interest in a wide variety of research topics in relation to natural language in general, especially on grammar-related issues with a focus on pairing of form and meaning.
