Susan Patricia Coller Monarez (born in 1974) is a microbiologist and disease researcher. Her work included finding the cure for African sleeping sickness and toxoplasmosis. Her father was a police officer, and her mother was a librarian.[2]

Her Government career started in 2014 and ended in August 2025. It is not yet sure, who is going to be replace her as the next CDC director.[3][4][5]
