I have a new favourite animal - mostly just because of it feet.
The Chameleon.

I was watching the second episode of Life (Reptiles and Amphibians) earlier and it was amazing. This particular chameleon is the Panther Chameleon and appears about 17 minutes into the programme. Chameleon feet are zygodactylous (2 digits are fused together and face forward and 3 face back). This lets them grasp thin branches and it is an adaptation for climbing. Its tongue and the swivelly eyes are also pretty amazing and obviously the changing the skin colour.
Go watch Life. David Attenborough is wonderful! And I'd also recommend the footage of Komodo Dragons slowly hunting a Water Buffalo (but not for the soft hearted to watch).

I finally joined Ravelry. I'm silveronthetree there as well, so friend me if you have an account.
