He doesn't mean to sleep with Jeff (vodka is funny that way), but he knows a one-night-stand when he wakes up wrapped around one. Right up until it stops being one.

I adore stories that deal with the start of a relationship as I've always been fond of the romance genre and this was an excellent hockey player adjusted take on that.

This fic ended the first part with a punch in the gut. But the developing crush that led up to it was beautifully done and then there was perfectly written growing intimacy and inclusion into Ebbs and Hallsy's life and it was awesome.

Lengthy and fascinating love triangle fic. I really like the description of Kane/Backes relationship, because it isn't the endgame but it is still important.

I've read this about seven times since it was posted and I love it so much. I don't even know. It is oddly sweet (I've never found vomiting adorable BEFORE) and the hedgehog thing really works to get them to show feelings that they wouldn't normally admit to.

This is gorgeous. I love the delicacy of the writing and how much Clint and Natasha care about each other because they just fit even though they don't really get why. The ending was hilarious and perfect.

Dick being all big brothery is my favourite thing and this is a great example of that.

Across the stained wooden table, his opponent, Jones's girlfriend, Marion ... something... and how had he come by her legitimately? ... lifted her own shot glass of rotgut. Though it was the same alcoholic content as the Glenfiddich, Tony was sure that it also contained more different poisons than he could legitimately count, but Marion insisted that she had served it for years in 'her' bar. Luckily, that appeared to be no longer in existence, judging by her sorrowful expression at the time, and Jones's guilty one.
Tony Stark gets into a drinking contest with Marion Ravenwood. This is an unexpectedly perfect crossover and I couldn't stop giggling by the end of this story.

There isn't all that much fic about female characters in this fandom so it was lovely to see Sassticca fleshed out more in this story.

I hadn't realised how badly I needed a holiday! I'm on day three of a trip to Scotland (Edinburgh now and then various stops up the west coast and I can think straight for the first time in weeks!

I went to my first Fringe gig yesterday. We picked it pretty much at random and really lucked out as I spent the whole time laughing. I also can't believe the weather. It is so beautiful, I keep forgetting that I'm actually in Scotland.

These negotiations, he's familiar with. They usually take place in Gotham and not in the middle of time-travelling anomalies, but they've been a reliable part of his life, unfair and unpleasant as they generally are, for well over a decade now and he has some experience how they can go.

Space-time anomalies as leads to team-up. Beautiful River characterization, she really gets into Bruce's head. Also I love fic that addresses Bruce's extensive experience in understanding children.

A long time ago I invented a meme where I asked you to give me a prompt for a set of recs and I'm finally getting them together ready to post.

rubynye requested Pegging

My first reaction to this request was - ooh hot! and ack! I can only think of fic by rubynye (see DCU) and that sort of defeats the point of this exercise. I don't tag the fic I read by trope or kink, so I ended up going through all my bookmarks for pairings that I remembered had pegging fic and then looked at the fic tagged on AO3 to see if any of them jogged my memory. Then I accidentally slipped and read all the pegging fic ever, oops! I completely forgot to mention this here but I ended up devouring all of Suits a couple of weeks ago - And I loved it. I haven't got a clue why but the women are amazing and the male leads have fantastic chemistry. Anything that puts more Gina Torres on my screen is a win.

Ugh. Tonight has not been a great night. I have a stinking cold. I'm procrastinating on writing job applications. The cat managed to turn my laptop display upside-down by walking on the keyboard and it took forever to find the shortcut keys to turn it back (the mouse was moving in the opposite direction!) and now my housemate has just set off the smoke alarm by buring crumpets in the toaster.

I would just go to bed but it is still far too early (at least it was when I started this post) so have some recs.
