Which would be lovely, especially if I can start ASAP in lieu of Otakon being like 27 days away (I don't forsee them having an issue since I only report into the office once a week, most of the job is on the road/working individually from home) and me wanting to actually HAVE money for Otakon this year. And then there's those damn pesky bills I have. So I would like to start ASAP in the instance that like EVERYWHERE ELSE ON EARTH they pay bi-weekly and I'd have to wait 2 weeks or so to get paid. Dramaturgy has VERY little places to pursue an MFA, almost exclusively on the East Coast with the exception of SoCal and Iowa and I have no desire to move to Iowa nor across country at the moment.

And then there's the GRE factor. Gyuhhhhh. I think Amy is re-taking them so perhaps her and I could be study-buddies so I don't flail like hell at them. I HATE standardized tests so so much even though I was always apparently good at them. Not phenominally good, but enough that my teachers and parents pestered me for years about potential.

And then there's also apartment/room costs to factor in. I will not waste money dorming as most areas in the country it's just cheaper to rent an apartment. I've been sort of hesitant at times at the thought of packing up and moving, but then again, that's what storage is for. And I know Westys pretty well thanks to Bath & Body Works.

So these are the schools I've narrowed down on thus far (well more like, what's available), and if anyone knows anything good/bad about them, please let me know!

* Columbia University - New York City - Pretty much one of the BEST. And also COSTLY. COSTLY. It doesn't require the GRE, just a lot of extra red tape and $50,000 I don't have.

* Viriginia Commonwealth University - Richmond, VA -They have an MFA in Pedagogy, not Dramaturgy, but it incorporates Drama with other stuff it looks like in preparation for teaching Drama..which is sort of what I'm looking for. And it'd be 2 hrs from Amy and I could visit her lots. I emailed their department for info.

* Carnegie Mellon - Pittsburgh, PA - Apparently HAS a Dramaturgy MFA, emailed them for more info as well.

* Yale - New Haven, CT - Surprising, half the cost of Columbia and apparently THE BEST as it's the only place in US to offer a DFA (Doctorate of Fine Arts) in Dramaturgy. And it's an hour away.....which is good/bad. Does require le GRE, and is also apparently HARD to get into.

I was hoping there was a school in Virginia Beach as an option because Amy is seriously thinking of moving there next year, and it would solve a living situation PRETTY quickly and I guess according to our friend Carla it's less expensive living than here.
And Amy is pretty serious business when it comes to studies and I totally need that environment. Alas. Regent does not have what I am looking for. :sigh:

This makes me sort of glad I techinically have a year and half to worry about all of this.
As much as I WANT to move out, Shelley did put in perspective that it'd be a better idea saving my money for school/relocating.

My eyes just want to bleed over all this at the moment.
https://silver-miko.livejournal.com/217391.html?view=comments#comments
grad school","bleeding eyes","yes virginia you're actually a useful st
I need YOUR help!

My friend Will and I are trying to compile am Epic 80s List of Awesome Music and we need suggestions!
However, no Metal bands.
We're talking like Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Culture Club, Wham!, Journey, etc. Synthesizers, big hair ALL WELCOME!

Please please make suggestions!!
https://silver-miko.livejournal.com/217128.html?view=comments#comments
80s music","help!
Quoted by one Salvator Dali.

Fuck you Dali.
