I'll be honest, I came on here to share my latest hyperfixation, which can use a little help. It's a little show called Dead Boy Detectives, and Netflix cancelled it even though it did really well, and has only been out for 4 months. It has a lot of potential. So I came here to entice you all who haven't seen the show yet to go check it out and give it those viewing numbers and maybe make Netflix change there minds. (And even if we don't get that second season, it's a pretty good watch as is. The season rounds up pretty nicely.)

What's Dead Boy Detectives about? Well, the title really says it all, honestly. In London, ghosts Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland are the Dead Boy Detective Agency, solving supernatural cases while hiding from Death. After helping a World War I-era spirit move on to his afterlife, they rescue psychic medium Crystal Palace from her ex-boyfriend David, a demon who steals her memories.





It has lots of great female characters, strong chemistry, talking cats, a cat King, a crow who's also a boy, a man who was once a mighty wallrus... and it's very queer. Also, Ruth Connell (Rowena from Spn) is in it, and Richard Speight Jr directed an episode. The head writer is Steve Yockey, who's also from Spn. And I mean, look how the main characters look at each other:

Seriously, George and Jayden (the actors who play Edwin and Charles) have Jared\/ Jensen levels of chemistry and it's wonderful to see. (..George called Jayden the love of his afterlive on Insta and I'm still not over that. XD)

Last year I was heavily into Our Flag Means Death. The show got a second season this year, and I liked it fine, but I definitely didn't obsess about it as much as I did season 1. My obsession has now moved on Good Omens, as I mentioned in my previous post. I think a lot more people have heard about this show then they did OFMD, as it's an adaptation from the book Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett wrote together. The first season aired in 2019 and stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen as Crowley and Aziraphale. I loved the first season a lot, but after watching season 2 this year, the obsession took hold. In case someone hasn't heard of Good Omens, here are the trailers for season 1 and 2:





So I've been rolling around in this fandom. There's a lot of art and fanfic, and I've gone back to reading fanfic almost daily. If people are interested I could post some recs. And there are so many amazing artists in this fandom too. Just... *chefs kiss*

In other, somewhat more personal fandom news... I had to say goodbye to a very good friend I made in the Spn fandom; <\/a>kreespa<\/b><\/a><\/span>. I think most people have heard about it, because went to so many conventions and posted a lot of video's. We found out in August that a melanoma Krista had, had spread, and she needed surgery and radiation to battle. But in September we heard that things were really bad and that she had only weeks left. And sadly, at the beginning of this month, she passed away. It's just so surreal that she's gone and that I'll never hang out with her again in Rome. If I hadn't already decided that I wasn't gonna do JIBcon again, I would have now. I don't think I can go there and not be a sobbing mess the whole con.

Sooo... this year was the year of Legend of Zela: Tears of the Kingdom. I must admit that most of my gaming time went into frolicking around in Hyrule. :') I mean...

Look how pretty. I'm honestly still not done. Apart from the fact that I don't have much gaming time, I just really want to enjoy this game and not rush through it.

Other than Zelda I've been playing Pokemon. The Pokemon Violet\/Scarlet DLC came out and I've been playing that. :)

Quick update on other stuff... I'm very deeply into Good Omens right now. I loved the show before, but season 2 got me completely obsessed. I might have a bit of a fixation on David Tennant. :') My mom and I are watching Doctor Who finally. We started with the 9th doctor, and are now at season 3. Baby David Tennant, be still my heart. :')

Still managed to keep up with drawing. I'm posting most of it at Instagram<\/a> and Deviantart<\/a>. Still reading (reading the Witcher rn) and gaming (Tears of the Kingdom is amazing). Work is eating up a lot of my time and energy, but there's not a whole lot I can do about that sadly.

Will probably do a kind of end of the year review again at the end of this month.

Fandom<\/b>
Fandom has always been a very big and important part in my live. A lot of friend come from the fandoms I've been in, and of course Supernatural has been the biggest factor there. I mentioned before I have drifted away from the fandom, and that hasn't changed. I don't read any spn fanfic, and I don't feel compelled to make art in this fandom. Sam and Dean still have a big spot in my heart, but I still haven't watched season 15 (except for the last two eps), and I'm not sure I ever will.
Last time I posted I was completely obsessed with Aidan Turner. That obsession hasn't completely gone away, but it has simmered down a bit, only to make space for a new obsession: Our Flag Means Death.


This show has taken over my life. The gay pirate brainrot is real yo. I've rewatched it at least 5 times, and giggle about everything just has hard every time. Lucius is my favorite character, my baby boy (..he's almost 30, but still). There will be a second season next year and I can't wait.

I'm happy to report that I've kept up with my art, and I've created quite a bit this year. It really helps that I've made sunday 'drawing day'. I just plop my ass down behind my desk every sunday, and draw as long as I can. Here's a list of the things I've drawn. All these links lead to Instagram. In the beginning of the year, I was still very much busy with Aidan Turner's face, so my first piece of art of 2022 was of one of his roles. Second piece was Aidan as well.

Then I saw a really great picture of Jared as Walker. I haven't watched the show and it's honestly not a show I'm interested in, but this photo looked like a challenge, so I gave it a shot.

Then I went briefly back to Aidan Turner. I really wanted to try my hand at a colored pencil portrait, and I had this picture of him I wanted to draw that I didn't think a grayscale version would do it justice.

This is where Our Flag Means Death takes over. After I watched the show I was itching to draw, and I of course started with sketching and feeling out my favorite character.

Then I tried my hand at a proper portrait of Lucius, with one of his many great expressions. Nathan Foad who plays Lucius has a very expressive face and I adore him. And then I drew another two portraits of him.

These portraits set off a project where I started drawing the whole crew of the Revenge. They all have such interesting faces, and all of them have something to help me along in practicing drawing portraits.

Reading<\/b>
After not having read a book in years, I've finally managed to get to reading books again. I sit myself down every saturday. What also helps is that the books I'm reading are all books that have tv shows that I love based on them. So I'm sure I'll love the characters, and I'm already kind of familiar with the universe. It's also interesting to see what the tv shows took from the books, and what they left out. Here's what I've managed to read this year:

I'm not sure if it's because they're a cannon pairing, and just not as interesting (god, they're so adorable on the show I can't.), as they have a pretty healthy relationship all things concidered. Ah well, hopefully once the new season starts it will pick up. *hopefull*
I do read the occasional Izzy\/ Lucius, as there's more of it, but not all of it is in my taste. :)

So last year I was very much into Animal Crossing, but after hours upon hours of playing that, I'm kinda done with the game. So this year I've been playing a lot of Pokemon, with first Shining Pearl, and then Legends: Arceus. I've also been playing some Indy games (Fall Guys, Ooblets), and right now I'm heavily into Pokemon Violet. I also dipped my toe back into Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in anticipation of Tears of the Kingdom coming out next year (fucking finally!) If any of you have a Switch and want to exchange friendcodes, let me know. :)

Work is still very busy and exhausting. Lot's of sick colleagues, and not always enough people to replace them. I still love the kids though, and we have some pretty great parents at the moment, so that helps. :) I'm just keeping my fingers crossed I'll manage not to strech myself to thin.

I had this picture of Jensen that I really loved and wanted to draw for a while, so I finally went for it. There's something about the way he's kind of turned away but still kind of looking in the direction of the camera that I love.

Then I came across a picture of Eric Szmanda that I really liked. Greg Sanders was my main squeeze in CSI, and I haven't drawn him in ages so I decided to sketch him.

And last but not least... my latest drawing. Geralt (played by Henry Cavill) from the Witcher. Season 2 is coming to Netflix soon and I'm pretty excited about that, so I decided to give his face another go. :')

Next in line is probably going to be another Aidan portrait. XD My obsession is far from over, but I also have a few pictures laying around of other actors, so we'll see. :')

So I uh... might have drawn him a few times (and still have a few pictures I wanna draw). >__> I'm okay with giving in to my obsession though, because his face is very good practice for a few things I struggle with. I have a hard time with eyebrows, and his are pretty hefty. And drawing curly hair is also something I needed to practice, and his hair is pretty damn curly. :')

Anyway...

Here's the first Aidan portrait I did. By that time it had been about a year ago since I drew my last portrait, so I was pretty damn rusty. :')

The next picture I drew is one that I adore, and is from a Being Human promo shoot where the cast is in a bed under some blankets, and Aidan's hair is just all over the place.

Next I went for a picture of aidan from a photoshoot that I really liked.

I then got an idea for one of Aidan's characters, Mitchell from Being Human. For those who don't know, Being Human is about a vampire (Aidan), a werewolf (Russell Tovey) and a ghost (Lenora Crichlow) living together in a house, and trying to live among the humans. I especially love the relationship between George (the werewolf) and Mitchell (the vampire), and I wanted to draw them together.

That same day I also finished a Mitchell sketch I had started a year ago but just never got around to finishing.

And last but not least... Aidan played the dwarf Kili in the Hobbit, and I really wanted to draw him and his brother Fili (played by Dean O'Gorman). I thought this would be a little easier as Kili has straight hair, but I forgot that Kili is a wildchild and his hair is just all over the place, so it was still a challenge XD

I'm very glad I can see some improvement with every portrait I manage to finish. Funnily enough, the way I draw a portrait has also changed. I used to set up a quick sketch, and then start at the top and work my way down. Now I set up, and just start layering. I'm basically working all over, and not section by section. I like this way of working a lot more, I've noticed. :)

I really haven't posted here in forever, haven't I? I'm just having a lot of trouble keeping up with LJ lately. These days I mainly hang out on Discord. I really miss hanging out on Lj though, so I'm going to try and make an effort to come here again.

I'm just.. really tired all the time. Work is very draining atm. Covid is obviously affecting everything, although not much really changes for me. I work at a daycare, so I can't really work from home. :') (honestly kind of jealous of people who can, sometimes.) I'm honestly kind of scared I'm very close to a burn out. I just had two weeks off, and I still feel as tired now as I did at the start of my holiday. And I did absolutely nothing. Well... took the occasional walk, played a lot of Animal Crossing, and drew.

That's one thing I'm kind of happy about. After a dry spell of over a year, I'm back to drawing pretty regularly. My obsession with Aidan Turners face is kind of to 'blame' for that. He's just so pretty I want to draw his face all the time. :') My mom and I also started an artjournal together. We swap it back and forth and give each other prompts to work on. I'll post all my drawings later in a separate post.

Also!! And this is also pretty important with Christmas coming up... I've moved this year. I now have a small ground floor appartment with a little garden behind it. I also have a separate room that I've turned into an arts and crafts room, where I can work on my drawings\/ paintings without getting harrased by my cats. XD If people are interested, I can post pictures of my new appartment later. Anyway... if any of you are doing Christmas cards this year and want to sent me a card, let me know and I'll give you my new address.

Which lands me on the main reason I wanted to post. I wanted to check in with ya'll to see who else moved this year. I'm working on my christmas\/ holiday cards, and I know some people have moved, but for the life of me I can't remember who. I guess there are several reasons for that, and I think one of the main reasons is that I've kind of fallen off of the fandom bus.


And by falling off of the fandom bus, I mean fallen off the Supernatural bus. Supernatural has been my happy place for many, many years, but Dabb and the current writers have completely destroyed it. The only thing I can remember from season 14 is how angry it left me. I started downloading s15, but I felt so much dread, that I haven't watched a single episode yet. And honestly? Hardly any of the spoilers I've seen make me want to watch it. I think I'm just gonna sit back and see how bad Dabb will fuck up the ending to descide if I'm even gonna acknowledge there is a season 15...

And fandom. God, has a big part of that turned into a trashfire. Twitter is just kids playing purity police, and even here I wasn't feeling like home anymore. This was a place for me to put out my thoughts, positive or negative. But then I read a rant from someone about how people dared to be negative about Supernatural while it's the last season and how dare people ruin their fun.

...

So. I guess I kinda pulled back? I'm basically only active on Discord these days, because I've found a few servers where people are accepting of all opinions, and I can actually speak my mind there whitout worrying of apparenty pissing people off. I haven't felt like making any fanart or consuming any fanworks because right now, the joy is basically completely gone. I'm hoping taking a step back and waiting untill it's all over to carefully dip back in might rekindle some of the love. I mean, I still love the first few seasons, and Dean is still my most loved character of all time, so the love isn't completely gone. But I hope in a few months I can go back in without feeling angry or frustrated.

Ok, that was a bit of a rant and I'm not sure it makes any sense, but I had to get that off my chest.

Other than that I'm okay-ish? I'm worried about the state of the world, but I try not to think about it to long. No working from home for me because I work at a daycare and that's just not something you can do from home.

The last few episodes of Season 14 made me so angry that I haven't been able to get myself to watch yet, and honestly? None of the spoilers I've seen have made me excited or made me want to watch. The only thing I kind of like is Dean being angry with Castiel, but I know even that won't last, so meh. I probably will watch eventually, but right now I can't watch how horrible the show has become. I'm honestly just happy this is the last season and Jared and Jensen are putting it out of its misery, because Dabb and the current writers have murdered my happy place and I'm just :(

...of course, this is just my opinion and more power to you if you still love it. But I just really hate what my great little show has turned into. <\/a>

On the way, they fight monsters, meet an Angel of the Lord, and find gruesome evidence of a lost battle and abandoned human settlements. Eventually, they admit their true feelings for each other. But will their love survive when Sam learns the truth about his birthright?

I had the pleasure of working with <\/a>amypond45<\/b><\/a><\/span>, and I had a lot of fun creating art. Supernatural 14.15: Peace of Mind<\/b>

Uh... what was that? I just... *blinks*

I mean, I guess it was fun to see Sam in glasses and with a ponytale, but it was all just so... weird. I mean, it was pretty clear from the start that Sam wasn't happy in the bunker, and I think Dean already knew why that was. Did we really need an entire episode to get them to talk? Also, the whole Dean and Jack visiting Donatello was just... why? Why waste an entire episode on that?

I guess that's what's bothering me. Nothing really happened, this episode felt so useless at this point of the story.

Man, I don't know. I just... *hands* I don't know with this ep. I didn't hate it, mind you. I just.. maybe because the last few eps were so great this just fell flat with me. :\/

Supernatural 14.14: Ouroboros<\/b>

Uh, wait, what? Is Jack... back to is old self? Did you use Michael's grace to replenish what he lost? Or is the other shoe about to drop? Seeing how this is Spn, it's probably that last one. Just... please don't make Jack the Big Bad of the rest of the season. *puppy eyes*

Anyway... this was a pretty okay episode, although because of all the Michael stuff, there wasn't much time for the actual case. Because of that, it felt a bit rushed. Loved the bit of Rowena and Sam going into the animal clinic for the antidote. Poor Jack though. :')

Also? Dean getting knocked out and Sam being all worried? Totally my jam. Gonna have to watch that bit again. About a hundred times. More of that show. :')

Supernatural 14.11: Damaged Goods<\/b>

Oh Dean... T___T Were you really gonna go out into that box without telling Sam? Really? I must admit to being really amused that the reason people were suspicious of Dean because he was going around hugging people and because he didn't want Sam around. :')

And poor Sam. The idea of Dean in that box forever, with Michael must be horrible. He might say yes, but he's not gonna let that happen. (I mean, I'm so behind that it was impossible to avoid spoilers, so I know it's not gonna happen, but really... that's not a surprise.)

Man, I hope that's gonna be the last we see of Nick, because I really don't care about him. Like, at all.

Supernatural 14.12: Prophet and Loss<\/b>

Omg no show, whyyyy. Why is Nick still a thing?? Ugh.

ANYWAY. Glad to seen Donatello still alive btw. I like him. :')

Dean and his suicide mission. Just... *shakes head* I'm so glad Sam managed to talk some sense into him in the end, because really Dean? You've always managed to turn things around, to get out of seemingly impossible situations. I mean, I don't know how this is gonna end up or if this box is gonna get into play in the end (I really hope not, btw), but at least make sure you really have tried everything.

Love that last scene between Sam and Dean. That was amazing. <3

Supernatural 14.13: Lebanon<\/b>

Omg shoooow. It's been a long time since you made me cry, but you managed it. T___T

Haha, the first scene. Sam and Dean both can't help but touch things and try things out, can't they? Sam with the bear, and Dean with the squeeze bottle. :')

And those teens. Just... But it was fun to see Sam and Dean from othe peoples eyes again. Lol at that lady being totally enamoured with Dean. I feel you lady. Sams face though. XD

It was so good to see John back again. I have a bit of a love\/hate relationship with him. He really fucked Sam and Dean up, but at the same time, I do think he tried his best under the circumstances. But it was good for both Sam and Dean to talk to John, to hear him say he fucked up, and that he loves them. It's just sad they're probably gonna forget it happened. :(

So yeah... loved this episode. <3<3

Yaay, I'm all caught up! Man, these three episodes has such good brother content. I really hope show will keep this up. This is the show I fell in love with. <3<3

Supernatural 14.10: Nihilism<\/b>

Sooo... one of the reasons I fell behind on watching Spn is that I hated that Michael got back into Deans head so much, really dreaded watching this ep. And even after some people had assured me this ep was okay, I still had trouble getting myself to start this ep.

Now I've finally watched it, and the ep was pretty good. I still really hate the fact that Michael is back in Dean's head though, so I have mixed feelings. I just want Michael gone, and fast. I can't even enjoy that Jensen is getting to act out another character. :\/

Anyway... I'm trying to look at the things I do like. I love how Sam was the one to get Dean to snap out of it, and get his memories back. There's no-one who knows either Sam or Dean then the other does. <3 On a more shallow note... Dean in only a henley... yum. :')
I also loved seeing Pamela again, even if she was only a figment of Dean's imagination.

So overal, not a bad ep, but the fact that Michael is still in Dean's head prevents me from really enjoying it all.

I had a birthday about 3 weeks ago, and I wanted to thank everyone who left me a message of some sort. I also got some sweet messages on Twitter and Facebook. (Although I do love getting all these messages, I do long back to the time that actual birthdaycards were still a thing. I only got three this year, of which one was from work, and one I got from my youngest sister when she came to visit.)

The day itself was nice and relaxed. My youngest sister came to visist and we watched some Due South episodes. My other sister, her husband and my mom and dad visited the day before (which was a sunday). I'd baked an appelpie, and made some tomatosoup. It was also nice and relaxed. :)
