  • About the Conference
  • 今日の国際教育では、文化的多様性を重視するプログラムが展開され、教育手法、参加学生層も多様化しています。一方、AI、デジタル技術が積極的に活用されていており、オンラインによる多様な教育交流の手法が実現してきました。「多様性」の確保と「テクノロジー」の活用は国際教育における喫緊の課題となっています。
  • SIIEJ（国際教育夏季研究大会）は、国際教育にかかわるすべての人々が、所属機関や職種を超えて相互に学びあう場として発展してきました。2024年のSIIEJは「国際教育が牽引するダイバーシティ・エクイティ・インクルージョン（DEI）」をテーマとして開催されましたが、2025年においても多様性を一つのテーマとして継承します。
  • また、オンラインによる教育交流、AIをはじめテクノロジーを駆使した交流プログラム、デジタル・マーケティング、オンライン・アセスメントなど、国際教育におけるテクノロジーの活用に焦点をあてたワークショップやセッションを実施していきます。
  • 2025年SIIEJは、8月6日－7日に、京都先端科学大学（KUAS）で開催されます。全国の国際教育に携わる組織、機関、企業から300名を超える参加者が見込まれますが、参加者が相互に学びあうSIIEJの理念を継承していきます。また、会場校であるKUASにおけるストリートスマート人財育成を軸とする先端的国際教育実践についても参加者が学ぶ機会を提供いたします。
  • In today’s international education, programs emphasizing cultural diversity are expanding, leading to diversification in educational methods and the student demographics involved.
  • At the same time, AI and digital technologies are being actively utilized, enabling various forms of online educational exchanges. Ensuring “diversity” and leveraging “technology” have become urgent challenges in international education.
  • The SIIEJ (Summer Institute on International Education, Japan) has developed as a platform where individuals involved in international education can learn from one another beyond institutional and professional boundaries. In 2024,
  • SIIEJ was held under the theme “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Driven by International Education.” The 2025 event will continue to emphasize diversity as a key theme.
  • Additionally, workshops and sessions will focus on utilizing technology in international education, including online educational exchanges, AI-powered exchange programs, digital marketing, and online assessments.
  • SIIEJ 2025 will be held on August 6-7 at Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS). More than 300 participants from organizations, institutions, and companies involved in international education across Japan are expected to attend.
  • The event will uphold the SIIEJ philosophy of mutual learning among participants. Moreover, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about KUAS’s advanced international education practices, which focus on developing “street-smart” global talent.

"Breaking through the borders of individual universities and promoting research"

私たちRECSIEは、2018年から毎年恒例のカンファレンス「Summer Institute on International Education, Japan (SIIEJ)」を開催しています。このカンファレンスでは、大学の国際化を支える業務を担う教職員を対象に、さまざまな研修やセミナーを開催しています。7回目の開催となるSIIEJ 2024の参加者は、さまざまなワークショップやセッションを通じて、国際教育の分野における意見交換や最新の知識を身につけることができます。また、大学間の垣根を越えた人的ネットワークを構築することも、この会議の目的です。

We at RECSIE have organized an annual conference, the Summer Institute on International Education, Japan (SIIEJ), since 2018. The conference offers a variety of training sessions and seminars for faculty and administrative staff whose work underpins university internationalization. Over the course of various workshops and sessions, participants of SIIEJ 2024, our seventh conference, will exchange views and gain the most up-to-date knowledge in the field of international education. An additional goal of the conference is to build networks of personal contact which span boundaries between individual universities.
