inceptiversary is holding Porn Week this week. I'm more focused on finishing the Jon-and-Arthur-are-cousins fic (otherwise known as Double Take, for those of you playing along at home) for the Finish Your WIPs challenge, but I'll write something for Porn Week if I have time. Everyone else, however, should write something! Or draw something! Or submit a prompt to the prompt meme.

Because Double Take is almost done (knock on wood), I figured I'd line up the next WIPs I'll be tackling. So far, the order goes:

1) my IRB fic
2) the terribly overdue omega!Eames fic for bauble
2) the equally overdue chef!Eames & food critic!Arthur fic for kateison

How much of yourself do you put in your characters?

It’s another round of ‘Sib is asking questions’! Except it’s not follower-wide this time - just writers and roleplayers (next follower-wide round is a Tom Hardy one, since we had a Jiggles one already).

Anyway.

We’ve probably all seen that quote (or was it a piece of meta? I can’t remember…) that says we’re drawn to certain characters - for RP, for POV characters in fic - because something about them resonates with us. Be it life circumstances, outlook on life, some aspect of personality… there’s always something.

So my question is this: when writing your characters (fanfic or RP based on established characters only), how much of you goes into the characters?

And as a follow up question: why do you write from that character’s POV / roleplay that particular character?
