In retrospect, life was so simple before you got superpowers. Do your homework, pass your classes, go to practice four times a week, ask your crush to prom. Well, prom can wait. Gotta buy gasoline for the homemade flamethrower. This Monster isn’t going to stop itself.

Welcome to the life of an Emergent. You aren’t a hero, you’re just a kid who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. You’ve got superpowers, but only technically—at this point its barely a party trick, nothing to name a comic book character after. And its hardly a consolation when you look at the Monsters you’re facing.

These things shrug off bullets without flinching, can snap bones like toothpicks, and can warp the very laws of physics you used to think were unmoveable. Did I mention they can mutate to take advantage of your fears? You have no chance of winning a fair fight…

So don’t fight fair.

If you want to win, you’re going to need to hunt this Monster. Study the sites of its attacks. Observe it in action. Raid its lair. Study what it leaves behind. Find its weaknesses, then exploit them. Craft some weapons, lay some traps, use your powers. Turn the tide, and take this thing out once and for all. Don’t fight fair.

In Emergent, you’ll play as highschool students with superpowers who fight horrifying, interdimensional Monsters while trying to maintain their secret identities and pass their classes.
