A few weeks back I spent a week helping my sister out with some in home care of her soon to be MiL. Since that time MiL has been hospitalized to regulate her medication and do a full work up on her. The good news is she is doing better and on her way home today. The not so good news is that she seems to have had a small stroke. We are surmising that she had that the day I called 911 because she would not respond to me at all. Now the medics on scene as well as the ER could not find anything wrong with her and had proposed that she was playing possum looking for attention. Which could be true but since I was giving her all the attention she wanted and I don't think an Oscar winner could do a performance as well as she did, I am tending to agree with her son that, that was when the mini stroke was happening. So, it is good to know that I wasn't over reacting by calling 911, although in this case I kinds wish I was, you know?

Some of you know that some years ago I was working (unpaid) with a group of friends to build a text based MMO that went defunct for various reasons. I have kept in touch with quite a few of the designers from our little hevenly hell of a project via e-mail and Facebook. We don't chat much but we try and keep in touch and keep each others spirits up when needed, but we rarely talk about gaming or the work we did together. For me it just makes me frustrated. It was a good Idea, with good people that worked well together, if not for one control freak type personality I think we could have build something very fun. But that is neither here nor there now.

So when I got a Facebook message from someone I didn't know, asking to help fill out a design team for a new game, and that I was recommended by someone I worked with from the other game... I was.. I don't know. Speechless at first.. then suspicious. I sent a quick message to the person whom supposedly recomended me to the project head and it went something like this...

Me: Are you trying to put me to work again? ;)

Duckman: Yes. (Game lead person) is a friend I met
in (MMO Game) who is designing his own RPG - I told him you were an invaluable resource.

Me: I love you Duckman.  You knew I could not resist. :D

So, it looks like I will be helping with another game. This for pen and paper as well as a computer game, possibly an MMO. Unlike last time though, I will be in on the ground floor and working with a team that knows how to listen to ideas of the people around them. I am feeling positive about this venture, and the ego boost from an old friend has made me smile all weekend.

We had a frost last night so all the birds are currently in the house. Surprisingly is really pretty quiet today. No screaming just a lot of talking it's going something like this...

Echo: "Hola!"
Me: "Hola Echo."
Digger: "Hello baby!"
Me: "Hel.."
Kenya: *interupting* "Hellloooo!" *continuing with video game noises*
Digger: "Love you!"
Echo: "Are you a good boy?"
Trouble: *makes kissy noises then whispers* "good girl"
Me: *smiling so much it hurts* "Love you too babies."

It's been a pretty good day considering everyone is in new surroundings and close to other birds that they are not overly fond of. But everyone is getting attention from momma even if I am just sitting quietly and reading.

Something small I made for Bear today, it made him feel all mushy so I thought I'd share.

This is a great post by Jen Yates, Founder of Cake Wrecks and Epbot, about her struggles with severe Anxiety and what she has found that helps her. I encourage those of you, who like me, suffer with this issue to give it a read. I have heard of this connection before and will be looking into it more as soon as I am able.

Rule #1 When using glitter, be prepared to have more on yourself then the item your trying to put it on. (and about 3x more on the floor then on you.)

Rule #2 Do not under any circumstances gasp or inhale quickly. Even if your dog suddenly appears behind you and scares you to death with a sudden bark.

Rule #3 if you ignore Rule #2 be prepared to cough, choke, and sneeze repeatedly, causing even more glitter to end up on the floor, your clothes, and embedded in your lungs and sinus.

(Today is gonna be one of those days, can you tell?)

Most people know that I have been having computer issues on and off since I got this box way back when. With it's main problem being that the computer turned it's self off while playing and only while playing CoX, most everyone, including myself, thought this was more then likely a video card over heating issue.

So we bought a better fan for cooling, replaced the card with upgrades 3 times and the problem continued. In fact, the old cards all went into Bears computer and worked with no issues what so ever. Bear was starting to suspect a motherboard issue, I on the other hand said it had to be the power supply. My reasoning is that we had a faulty HD when we first got it, I would not doubt that the PS was faulty as well.

Well the weekend before last I couldn't keep my computer on for more then 5 mins at a time. It would just turn off and it didn't matter what I was doing. It had been moody all week, shutting down at the most inopportune moments and it had only ever done that in CoX before, now it didn't matter.

By Sunday it was done. There was no booting to be had at all so Bear broke down and went out searching for a power supply and found one. Now, Computer runs great. I'm having no more issues with it and I am so damn happy I could cry. =D

Today is my sisters 40th birthday, so since Bear had yesterday off we went up to her place and had our own celebration.

We took my sister to lunch at Applebee's, Just Us and her friend, then we went to her friends place for some shooting. Yes shooting. My sister has recently gotten herself a gun license and has been doing quite a bit of target shooting. I myself am afraid of guns, Bear though has been in the army and for a time was on the police force in Texas, so he likes guns but sold his when we got married because I asked him to.

So we decided to try to ease my fears by getting me to shoot some. IE face my fear and the loud noise that makes me jump and maybe I can relax. I did fire a few times. Out of 18 shots I hit my target once so it is safe to say that if I am trying to shoot you, stay right where I am aiming and you'll be safe. XD

When we left I can truly say that Bear has a case of gun envy. I think when the AK-47 was pulled out he might have squeed with joy if there had not been another man in the room. I am still scared of guns, but maybe, just maybe, a little less then I was before.
