Over the last few months I have been focused on completing a Confederate and Union Army for use in Black Powder or other rulesets such as Longstreet and Sharps Practice.

Progress has been steady but slow over the last year on my AWI collection. Word of warning… no flag as I have been LAZY! I have beautiful GMB flags, but I keep putting it off.

Over the Mountain Men from Kings Mountain Miniatures Leave a comment
Bill from Kings Mountain Miniatures was kind enough to let me buy some of his latest miniatures early. I was finally able to get a few painted up. Great miniatures and the ability to customize the heads is really an extra bonus to creating different forces.
American War of Independence Regiments Leave a comment
Happy New Years! I know I am two months late. I have been painting I promise 🙂 I was sucked back into World of Warcraft for a few months, but I was able to remove those shackles in December and get back to painting. The first unit was a continental regiment in brown coats with red facings. I believe a number of the New England regiments wore something similar. In general my continental armies are meant to be generic regiments and not specific such as my British regiments.

33 Regiment of Foot (American War of Independence) Leave a comment
I finally completed the Regiment by adding the GMB Flags. The flags are absolutely beautiful! I had to remove the plastic flag staves as they were too short for the GMB flags. On this regiment I tried to drill holes in the hands to hold the flags. In both cases the hands broke off. I later found it easier to carve out the inside of the hand to sit the flag stave.
