ShareX can be used to take shots and record video from the screen. Likewise, it can be used as a file sharing program. This tool can capture data from the screen probably in more ways than any other product available. Thus, it supports taking snaps of the full screen, the selected region (even freehand) and a given window. Likewise, it can capture scrolling regions as well as webpages. Moreover, it can record screencasts and narrations. The program lets you share your captures by uploading them to various sites. Luckily, not only images are supported but also any other kind of files, such as text and videos.
Probably, the best advantage of this tool is the way it lets you automate some processes. In this respect, you can create workflows, which consist on actions that are automatically executed after capturing or uploading contents. For example, you can set the program to perform an optical character recognition of the text in an image, open it in the built-in image editor or upload it without your intervention. Another convenient feature is that the tool can watch a given folder and upload new files.
Its interface is rather plain and it has a menu with multiple entries, which is unfortunately rather uncomfortable to navigate. However, there is always the possibility to assign hotkey combinations to workflows, which eliminates the need to use the graphical user interface. more
