I am an up-and-coming Musician/Composer and would like to share my Account with anyone interested [17 Jul 2015|07:53pm]

My Account - jjnorman789

Hello everybody,

I would like to share my account with anyone who is interested in taking a look. You may read up on my Biography as I have written a few pages about who I am, basically my life story up until now along with a couple of jokes that I thought might be funny. I am a talented musician/composer. I can sing Bass 2 solo or in a choir, play the piano/keyboard by ear, and also know how to play the tuba. If any of this peaks your interest come take a look at my account because I have some posts with some more possibly coming in the future from my YouTube account to a trailer, and a couple of playlists I have built up over the years. Half of the work on my YouTube account has been over multiple years, as I have been building the talent that I now have for listening to music by ear and being able to play it on the piano/keyboard without aid of sheet music. Also, I have composed around 7 or more of my own original songs, 4 of which are uploaded to YouTube. I also have a couple of funnies on my account of me singing inappropriate words to songs that I don't know the words to, and I was not singing seriously at all so I sounded terrible. I have about 4 songs of polka music of my mom and I playing the accordion and tuba duets and hope to upload more in the near future. My YouTube account has been active for the past 2 months and I started with 31 videos on my account 2 months ago and now it is up to 55 videos! Most of the new videos are re-dos, but nontheless, I am trying to go for better quality videos now that I have a better recording device and a new casio keyboard on which I can play any instrument I like for any song. I try my best to pick out good instruments for each song and sometimes I like to do up to 3 or even 4 renditions of the same song because I like to hear it in different instrument tones. I have learned how to play a fairly long and simple song recently and would like to learn more songs in the future and upload them as well. I also still have songs that I know that I haven't uploaded yet and intend to upload them at some point as well. So you could say that my YouTube account is an ever growing account until I either hit a wall with music or my interest diverts to doing something other than expanding my account. Well, I do like to talk quite a bit so I think I'll stop here and just let you see for yourself if you like my videos. Make sure to subscribe if you like them so you have easy access to my account and thank you for listening to my speech! Also, if you have anything you'd like to say to me on my YouTube account you may comment, or if you'd like to say something to me in LiveJournal I would be happy to have a conversation.

Joshua Norman

P.S. If you want to search for my account on YouTube I suggest you search for it by my full name "Joshua Norman" otherwise it won't show up at the top of the search. :)

ca466 - Yonograph - Silent Opening [01 Sep 2011|09:56am]

Title: Silent Opening
#ca466
Date: 2011-08-29
Keywords: folk; rock; acoustic
(320 kbps)

Originally released in 2008 in a limited handmade CD package, "Silent Opening" is an intimate folk/rock debut album from the french songwriter Yonograph (Yohann Antignac).
After playing in different bands and artistic projects, Yohann played solo on stage in 2006 under the name of "Yoan and the Silent Phonograph".
Why this name? Maybe to refer to the good old music values which disappeared day after day...or maybe just because of the worry of feeling lonely on stage.
The "one man band" became Yonograph in 2010 after many gigs everywhere in France...

Gosprom are a Ukrainian electropop band made up of singer Marianna Diakova, keyboardist, writer and producer Dima Sysoev and guitarist Alex Popelnuh.
Over the last year they switched from trip-hop, acid jazz and dj scratches to synthpop with electronic synthesizers and guitars.

"This Road" - La Res [19 Aug 2011|10:04am]

0klman

La Res’ new music video “The Road” tackles the heart-wrenching reality of post-traumatic stress on veterans. The first single to be released from La Res’ new album Revolution, “The Road” also appears in the critically acclaimed new film Happy New Year. This compelling rock video shows the trauma of being in a war zone and seeing things that change your life and who you are forever.
“The Road” begins with a soldier awakening from a recurring nightmare that haunts him about the dead soldiers who didn’t make it back home. That fact and the entire traumatic experience has affected him to the point where meds are barely holding him together, and being around others is not something he can do. Sadly, even his wife is not an answer to his depression and the darkness he carries within. The scars of war have made him something he was never meant to be. The pain is expressed in strong lyrics like, “/There’s a rumbling down inside/The horn’s about to blow/This pride that’s been my shield/I think I’m going to let it go"/.

Tony Adamo - Groove Therapy [16 Aug 2011|06:52am]

0klman

San Francisco Bay area singer/songwriter Tony Adamo delivers some of his best work to date with his remake of Tower of Power’s “Groove Therapy.” “Groove Therapy” is a cut from Adamo’s CD Straight Up Deal, and this is a vibrant, earthy track with a definite 70s feel and all the funk you can handle. The horn section features members of the original Tower of Power horn section, and Tony smoothly delivers the “therapy,” musically speaking, that is. The “doctor” is definitely in the house. With crisp music, a nice guitar solo break, and the band at the top of their game, “Groove Therapy” comes together in a style that most can only envy. Adamo seems to have fun with this track with his deep, sultry, and commanding voice, and the expertise from the horn and percussion sections put the song into overdrive.
