Voice, Presence, and Connection

Shannon Holmes

Voice has always been at the heart of who I am. From early classical voice and opera training to theatre, interdisciplinary arts, and doctoral research, my work has consistently explored how voice functions as a tool for connection—not just sound.

Along the way, I discovered that technical skill alone isn’t enough. Whether singing, speaking, or leading in high-stakes environments, voice requires emotional access, embodied presence, and clarity under pressure. These skills don’t automatically transfer between performance and everyday communication—they need to be intentionally developed.

Today, I work with performers and professionals who rely on their voice to help them build confidence, consistency, and authenticity. Drawing on classical technique, theatre practice, and speech-based research, my approach supports voices that feel grounded, reliable, and capable of truly landing in the room.

My Approach

Evidence-Based. Embodied. Practical.

My approach blends rigorous vocal technique with embodied presence and nervous system regulation, grounded in research and performance practice. Rather than teaching a performance persona, I work to remove the habits and tension that limit expression—so your voice feels grounded, reliable, and authentically your own.

This work supports voices that can adapt across contexts: speaking or performing, high-pressure or everyday moments. The goal is not perfection, but presence—so your voice can fully support what you want to communicate, without strain or second-guessing.
