While it wasn’t the best musical I’ve ever seen, it was a good fun show and entertaining to watch. I’d never seen it live, only the movie (and not in ages) so it was fun to see the differences. Todd McKenney was great, the littlest orphan an absolute scene stealer and Sandy the dog was brilliant as he yawned his way through most of his 2 minutes of total stage time! I was maybe slightly disappointed with the singing from the children, Annie included, but perhaps I’m a little jaded and expected way too much from them. The littlest of the orphans pulled my attention whenever she was on stage and she shone even every second she was there... I could not take my eyes off her. This was also the case for me with Todd McKenney during the “Easy Street” number too, but I do think he’s generally brilliant and was certainly the main reason I wanted to see this show. All up it was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon but not a musical I would rush out to see again.
That entire opinion however may be slightly tainted by the fact that my beloved Eagles were fighting their way through an AFL semi-final while I was at the theatre. I was thankfully that they went into the second half with such a commanding lead because I felt sure that they were going to win. Collingwood, we’re coming to kick your butt out of the finals next. Also I have to say that even as an Eagles supporter, I am SO proud of the Dockers for knocking Geelong out of the finals. That is no small achievement and I hope they go on next week to do the same to the Crows!! (sorry Chris...well maybe not! ;-P )
I'm baaaack Bali was brilliant! I had a fabulous time and enjoyed my birthday and Mum's birthday there! I will post about the trip along with some photos when I get them all sorted and loaded. I only got back last night so I'm still sorting washing and getting life back to normal to return to work on Monday.
Being off the cyber-grid was actually quite nice, although I did miss Glee on Wednesday morning and all of you of course! ♥ I wasn't really aware how much time I spent online until I didn't. LOL
Thank you to each of you who sent me birthday messages of all kinds. Sorry I didn't respond personally as they were sent but they are appreciated greatly! :-)
Welcome to 2012 It feels like the new year officially started for me today as I went back to work. As long as I’m not getting up for work I feel like nothing is official yet! So today is the 3rd of Jan, but let’s call it the start of the new year.
Why do I never update you? Probably because I don’t think there’s anything update worthy to write. While that is still the case, since I’m on my lunch break at work I thought I could maybe cobble something together.
Last Friday Night - Glee Cast Vid I just saw this link on Twitter and thought it was fab so figured I'd share it. Perhaps you've all seen it, but it's worth another look! :-)
Firstly it’s a matter of single digit sleeps until the Harry Potter premier (8 to be precise) and now there’s SO much Glee Live amazingness going around from the final show(s)!
I may just explode from the sheer wonderfulness of it all!!
(just realised I never replied to any comments on my last post - *is bad*)
I have watched the bonus disc already and I’m SO looking forward to curling up on the couch tonight with a glass of red and enjoy the movie. It’s been so long since I saw it in the theatre!! WOO-HOO!!
Tomorrow I’m off to see a theatre production of “The Music Of Andrew Lloyd Webber”. Then I’ll probably watch HP7 again at night. LOL
So all round, it sounds like a pretty good weekend to me! :-)
The Valentine episode kicked the Super Bowl episode's arse!!
KICKED IT!!!
I think it may be one of my all time faves... loved it!! So stoked I watched it on my birthday with a glass of red!!! It just doesn't get much better than that!
WOO - HOO !!!!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone... I feel well loved! Thank You! :-)
I've been missing from LJ for the last little while .... I've been busy having fun! :-)
Over the last 2 weeks, my cousin and her husband have been visiting from Ireland and I've been enjoying spending time with them and playing tour guide, showing off Perth. It's been wonderful to have them here, and it was very tough to bid them farewell this morning as they continued their travels.
Also over the weekend I had the pleasure of attending a wedding down south in Dunsborough. It was a lovely, small, family wedding and everyone looked beautiful and had a nice time.
So that's why I've been MIA for a bit. I will post some photos in the next few days of what we got up to while being tourists in my home town, but in the mean time, I hope you are all well! :-)
2010 - The Year That Was Since the first full week of 2011 is drawing to a close I thought I would do a little ‘year in review’ post. This is essentially one I saw coreyann do, but it’s mashed up with some questions I liked from a few others I’ve seen about.
HELLCATS on aussie TV I just saw that HELLCATS will start on aussie TV on Monday September 13th!!
As I discovered that this is also the date for season 2 of The Vampire Diaries, it would seem that Monday nights are going to be my night in with GO!!!
GALE ON AUSTRALIAN TV !!! I am probably preaching to the choir here and telling you something that you already know, but this is so worth being told repeatedly -
We’ve been told that Gale is going to be playing Julian Marshall, the lead character’s law professor in the new CW show HELLCATS which is due to premier on the 8th September in the US.
Promos airing last week in Australia now tell us that Channel 9’s digital channel GO! will also be showing HELLCATS in September here in Australia too!! This is brilliant news and everyone needs to know about it and all the Aussies need to get watching so we continue to get the show in pretty close succession to the US and get to enjoy seeing Gale on TV again! :-)
There’s a fairly substantial trailer available on youtube (no Gale) And a fansite for the show, including news of Gale’s casting.
Of course I’ll be watching it because Gale’s in it, but I have to admit that I think this show is actually going to highly appeal to my Disney-movie quirk. YAY!!
Okay so I’ve watched the new HP trailer a few times now and I am frigging loving it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is SO much content in it and it looks like they have stuck very very closely to the book as well!
I am so enthused by this trailer and what it means for Harry Potter! It looks brilliant and it looks exactly like I imagined as I was reading the book. I was even a little freaked out by Nagini.
I was completely enthralled by it! I was making little squee noises the first time I watch it.
Roll on NOVEMBER!!! I simply cannot wait for this movie!
(I need a Harry Potter userpic - must work on that! ...and now I have one!!)
