Time for the parade! Again, a billion photos and way too much information. Reminder that I am a lameass and insane. Okay, onward!

Sunday: The Continuing Adventures of Vicki, Jen, Brian and Justin - The ConclusionCollapse )

Thank you, Jen, for making this Pride the BEST. You rock.

Okay, so who's up for next year? :)

Okay. YAY! So I'm going to split this into two parts, because there's LOTS of photos. Also, I'm sure this will contain lots of stuff that nobody but me cares about, because (like last year) this is basically my remembrance of evvvverything, here, online, instead of writing this all out in my regular journal!

Also, I embrace the lameness fully, and I am insane. Just so you know.

Friday and Saturday: The Adventures of Jen, Vicki, Brian and Justin, Part OneCollapse )

Now I'm off to eat supper and head to the store. The parade post will be up later, if anybody is interested. :)

I am home from Pride.

It was amazing. BEST PRIDE EVER. I am tired, and despite slathering on the sunblock my nose and forehead are red (this is what happens when you spend 13 hours straight in the sun for 2 days in a row) and my arms have patches of burns (this is what happens when someone in the parade jumps out and rubs paint all over your arms!) I spent lots of money (but not as much as I expected to spend) and bought many pretty rainbow-y things. Jen had a blast so YAY to that.

I'll be posting a recap tomorrow with pics (hopefully they turn out!) for anyone who is interested.

Now, I must shower and go to bank and put photos in for super-fast developing. :)

So my little overnight bag is all packed (and I even remembered shoes, so I don't have to be a hippie, yay me.) I've got some CD's ready to go for the car and the room. Have called Amy and reconfirmed the taking-care-of-Cassie plans. Apartment is tidy.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand... Jen calls to say that they just dumped 20 finance plans on her desk that need to be processed before the end of the workday. The workday ends at 3pm. It is now 2:53pm.

Soooo. Think perhaps I'll run over to the store and pick up those items that I was going to suggest we pick up on the way to TO. And yeah, guess I have time to do those few dishes in the sink.

And I think I need chocolate. Lots of chocolate.

Damn, a daiquiri is going to taste GOOD tonight.

ETA: Drinking on an empty stomach kind of rocks. Wheeee!

So this morning I am awoken at 8am by the ringing phone. By the time I haul my fat ass out of bed (the bed is squished to one side of the room because of painting, so there's like 2mm of space for me to maneuvre said fat ass) it has gone to the machine. And the person doesn't leave a message. So I go to the bathroom (coz peeing takes precedence) and then do the thingy where you press *69 to find out who called, and it was Jen. Who you might remember proved herself to be the best friend in the history of friends when she volunteered to attend Pride with me this weekend when Liz canceled. This would also be the same Jen who has been *sick* for the past couple of days.

So. I call her back, and I get her machine. So, I worry. I worry that she is still sick. I begin mentally planning visits to clinics. I tell myself that it is okay to miss Pride. Really, it's okay, because clearly her health is more important. Really. Oh, and I email her.

And get an email response about 30 minutes later saying that she JUST WANTED TO YELL "YAY, TODAY IS PRIDE DAY" INTO MY PHONE.

*takes Xanax*

But yessssssssssssss! HAPPY PRIDE!

I should begin throwing clothes into a suitcase as some point.

Also, my bedroom is still a complete disaster. That red wall? Yeah, totally a no-go. So after 1 coat of coloured primer and FIVE coats of red, I am now re-primer-ing the wall in preparation for making it the same bland colour I bought for the other 3 walls. *sigh* The red DEEPENED to the right shade, but was still totally blotchy.

If I ever mention painting with reds again, please please please someone rip out my intestines with an ice-cream scoop. Thank you.

Oh, and did I mention? HAPPY PRIDE!

A little less splotchy today. I think if I ever talk about doing this again, someone should shoot me.

My schedule for the next week is insane. I am supposed to be relaxing on holiday damnit. This is what I get for leaving everything to the last minute. Today I've painted, currently doing laundry -- coz yay, I did not lock clothes in closet today -- and chatting with ayesakara. Later today I have to go out and get some clothes/things for bedroom/cd player that will play mp3's since Robbie is making me a disk. At some point I need to clean my floors which are absolutely disgusting. Tomorrow I'll be headboard shopping with my sister, and Monday I'll be bureau/side table shopping with Jen. There is stuff schedule for every day. Jen would also like to point out that I'm not even allowed to open the BOX that the bureau/side tables come in until she is here to supervise do all the work.

Um. Holidays YAY.

Oh. But I have scratched one thing off my list. Jen now has a tiara. :)

I am taking a break from cleaning my bedroom. Cleaning is totally good for what ails ya. I figured I had about half an hour of work to finish up on the closet, then it would just be the cleaning-cleaning part, and then I could polyfill the holes and THEN I COULD START PAINTING TOMORROW.

Yeah. So two hours later, I am just finishing the closet. I have many bags of crap to be thrown out, filled a box with things for the upcoming nursing home yard sale, and found two or three (or seven) large items for the yard sale. My cedar chest, which used to be mom's, is now sitting in the middle of the room, filled with yard sale stuff, in preparation for going to its new home at my sister Margie's, where it will then transfer to my niece Krystle. Three generations for the cedar chest and more to come, I'm sure. :) I'm hoping that when I get home from seeing The Omen today with the fam, I can finish up the cleaning-cleaning and still do the polyfill. *nods positively*

In other news, Liz and friends are no longer coming to Toronto in two weeks for Pride. Thankfully, crisis (and I do mean crisis, you sooo did not want to be near me the last few days) was averted when I called Jen to bawl my eyes out tell her the news, and she oh-so-coolly said "Well, I'm not doing anything that weekend." Seriously, I love her. So I'm now going for 3 days instead of 6 (Jen has to work), and there will still be much drinking, and laughing, and ogling of pretty gay boys. YAY PRIDE.

Now I just have to find Jen a tiara. :)

But first I have to lug 867564 things down to the recycle bin/garbage bins/oversize items section of the basement.

*hauls self out of comfy computer chair and gets back to work*

Today we saw the Police Male Chorus at the nursing home. Men in uniform. Alas, none of them were pretty (which is a given, I guess, considering the short hair. Do cops not know that it is all about the hair, baby?) They were surprisingly good, though, and seemed to be enjoying themselves, joking around and acting up during some of the songs.

Mom seemed to have a good time. She did tell me that she wants to dye her hair. ... She's 78. Now my sisters and I don't know if she was joking or not. She said maybe it would help her be "less depressed". Hell, if dying her hair PURPLE makes her less depressed then I'll be out picking up the colour tomorrow.

9 Days until I'm on vacation. 13 Days till Liz and Pride. Oh yes. Speaking of, I really should check the website and see what they've got lined up for entertainment this year. :)

1. I do not like this LJ style. GRRR HATES LJ HATES. ayesakara, do not make banner yet. Who knows what this thing is gonna end up looking like. I will find a style I like. I WILL. *determined face*

2. Our hotel is booked for Pride OMG YAY! I love our hotel. This year we plan not to get stuck in the elevator, though. At least, we hope not. Very soon I get to hug my twistinside82! And also, I get to meet Emily and Matt YAY.

3. Today I'm going shopping to buy paint for my bedroom. It hasn't been painted since I moved in (7 years?) so it is long overdue. I am totally redoing the bedroom over the next few months. New paint, new curtains, new comforter, new end tables and bureau, new lamps. And an area rug. It is going to look so perfect that I will squeee every time I enter the bedroom. Which is really the only time any squeeing goes in in there. :/

4. Okay. Now I have to shower so I can be ready when Jen gets here. We are also going to Ikea to look for the aforementioned curtains. Or lamps. Or area rug. LOVES IKEA.
