Transformers #80.5

Yes, you read that correctly.  IDW is picking up the Transformers storyline where the original comic run left off. From the site:

The wait is over - after a 20-year hiatus, IDW proudly returns to the original Transformers comic book universe, picking up right where 1991's Transformers #80 left off! Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Kup, Hot Rod and all your favorite Generation One Transformers characters charge into the future as fan-favorite writer Simon Furman and legendary Transformers artist Andrew Wildman present Transformers #80.5! Reflecting back on the dizzying highs and the terrifying lows of the original run of Transformers comics, Optimus Prime watches over a Cybertron that hasn't faced Megatron for decades. But that peace shudders to an end, as we dive headlong into July's Transformers #81!

Sadly, Free Comic Book Day is over for another year, but it never hurts to see if the comic shop has extra copies. It might show up in one of the eventual trades, too.

Movies and Anniversaries

Went down to Halifax yesterday and came back today. Saw Green Lantern and TF:DotM. Enjoyed Green Lantern very much, could have done with about 90% of the humans and 99.99% of the 'humour' in the latter. Better than TF:RotF (not that that's hard) but not as good as the first one, I don't think.

Also! I had forgotten an anniversary! Friday was the fourteenth anniversary of intravox and I meeting in person! Happy belated anniversary, intravox! You're a supervillain, but I love you anyway. :P

This fall it'll be fourteen years that Steve and I have been a couple. (We've been married for six, come August.) I've actually known him for sixteen years, but it took a bit to get his attention. (Probably for the best - there can be and was a bigger difference between sixteen and twenty-three, than eighteen and twenty-five. Think it might have been illegal at the time as well, given the age difference.) It's kind of a weird - but not bad! - thought that I've now known him for half my life, and from this point on it'll have contained more Steve than not. Huh.

Kid's programming sucks nowadays

Kid's programming could use a serious kick in the ass, agreed. It seems like they have the option of either watching people play card games (I predict the poker channel becoming insanely popular in twenty years) or Spongebob. The first I don't see the point of. As for Spongebob, I want to see Bikini Bottom or whatever its called used for nuclear testing.

It'd make a hell of a series finale.
