How can OT data help you predict failures and optimize operations?

You can use machine data to detect anomalies and prevent breakdowns before they occur. Dive into your OT equipment data to stay ahead of downtime, boost production efficiency, and make smarter decisions in real time.

Why use Secomea to collect machine data?

Secomea enables you to collect, process, and transmit machine data from your OT infrastructure – without requiring additional hardware.

Our gateway enables both secure remote access and data collection capabilities on your industrial equipment in a single dedicated hardware device or as software program to accommodate your specific setup.

HARNESS YOU OT ASSETS DATA TO UNLEASH ITS HIDDEN VALUE

What is Secomea’s Data Collection Module (DCM)?

The Data Collection Module (DCM) is built into Secomea’s platform, enabling you to securely gather data from your industrial assets using standard protocols – then process, store, and forward that data for analysis. We support the majority of industrial protocols and are always working to add new ones.

Which industrial protocols does Secomea support for data collection?

OPC UA

Modbus TCP

MQTT

Ethernet / IP

Siemens S7

Key features of Secomea's
Data Collection Module (DCM)

SMART DATA AGGREGATION

Perform customized aggregation routines on collected data, combining collected data into derived data points.

Define trigger conditions that generate alarm signals and/or modify data collection rules.

Establish operating conditions of increased interest during which you automatically collect data on additional parameters.

Collected data is cached in the gateway to minimize data loss in case of unstable connection or power outage.

The integrated Flash memory extends the RAM-based continuous store-and-forward database, and the offline period can be further expanded by inserting an SD Flash card.

DECODE YOUR MACHINE DATA TO OPTIMIZE EFFICIENCY

Tap into your factory floor’s insights

Frequently asked questions

Installation and configuration

What is the Secomea Data Collection Module (DCM)?

It’s a built-in module that securely collects machine data from your OT environments and supports alert setup, offline storage, and integration with cloud platforms.

How do I configure Secomea's Data Collection Module (DCM)?

Your Secomea gateway is all you need to configure the Data Collection Module (DCM) and start retrieving your machine’s insights.

No additional hardware or programming is required.

How many machines can I collect data from?

You can collect data from all the machines connected to a Secomea gateway.

The number of machines you can connect to a single gateway varies depending on the model you choose to implement.

With our hardware version, you only need one single gateway to connect up to 100 devices of all types and brands of industrial equipment via Ethernet, serial connection, or USB ports – in which case, you can collect data from all of the connected 100 devices.

Operation and usability

Will I lose my machine data in case of unstable connection or power outage?

Collected data is cached in the gateway to minimize data loss in the event of an unstable connection or power outage.

Therefore, you won’t lose your data, as it will be stored in the integrated Flash memory, which extends the RAM-based continuous store-and-forward database.

The offline period can be further expanded by inserting an SD Flash card.

Can I establish advanced data collection rules?

Yes, you have several options.

You can set up smart data aggregation to perform customized aggregation routines on collected data, combining collected data into derived data points.

Additionally, you can define trigger conditions that generate alarm signals or modify data collection rules.

This can be used to implement conditional sampling, allowing for the collection of additional parameters to enhance monitoring during operating conditions of interest.

Technical specifications

Which protocols do Secomea's gateways support for data collection?

Our gateway supports all the major industrial protocols for data collection, such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP, Siemens S7, Ethernet/IP, MQTT, etc. – with more protocols continuously being added.

To which cloud services can I send the data collected?

You can send the raw machine data collected for further analysis and processing to your chosen cloud solution, such as Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, Amazon AWS IoT Core, Software AG Cumulocity IoT, Aveva Insight, etc.

Is Secomea IEC 62443-certified?

Our systems periodically undergo third-party security audits and assessments. Through this significant investment, we ensure the most advanced protection for our customers and demonstrate compliance with international industry standards and best practices.

Secomea is certified under IEC 62443-4-1 standard, which specifies the process requirements for the secure development of products used in IACS.

This certification confirms that Secomea develops and maintains secure products following a secure development lifecycle (SDL), including a secure-by-design development methodology, secure implementation, patch management, and product end-of-life.

Moreover, the Secomea solution complies with IEC 62443-4-2 and IEC 62443-3-3 standards.
