The sanest lunatic you've ever met

I played the worst game of frisbee golf of my life last night, but had the most beautiful shot I will ever, ever make. I'm at a loss as to how to categorize the evening beyond "wildly fun." :)

I was also forced encouraged to watch the pilot episodes of Korgath the Barbarian (brief response: HAH and holy crap) and Heroes. I have a slightly longer response to Heroes.

Spoilers for 1x01 onlyCollapse )

I also have a few thoughts on the first two episodes of this season's CSI. Grissom plays with dollsCollapse )

I finally watched the penultimate episode of SG-1 and the midseason finale episode of SGA and really enjoyed both of them a lot. I actually enjoyed the SGA episode the most. Quick thoughts on 'The Return'Collapse )

BSG this week! Decemberists CD today! AWESOME. OH. And the Why Can't We Be Friends ficathon has posted their masterlist here. I look forward to checking these out!

I'm sans net access today at work. Wish me luck. *g*

Happy Friday, LJ! I'm spreading the joy via two hilarious links from tzikeh:

The Evolution of Dancing in 6 Minutes
10 Things I Hate About Commandments

I still haven't seen the CSI finale yet. It's killing me to know whether Read more...Collapse ) I have nothing to say about American Idol except while I was disappointed by the result, I wasn't surprised. I really wanted to be though.

Today's Dinosaur comics is the best ever. "Take boat." *still laughing* Ah, the days of text gaming.

On our walk with the dogs this morning I suggested that we run with them for a bit and holy crap am I out of shape. It was not pretty. Heh.

However, I have been a creative machine lately, working on my DS crossover story and vidding like crazy. I have two vid drafts done and I'm hoping to get another one this weekend, and then I'll be out of harddrive space entirely. Heh. Now I just need to actually finish some of these and store them until VVC. trelkez, I've been storyboarding yours and it's making me giggle a lot.

I was looking at my To Vid list last night and I think I'm going to have a Vid Idea Clearinghouse next week. Anyone else want to participate? I'll just put the ideas out there and anyone can claim one if they want it, because I know I'll never make some of these. It'll be even better if I figure out how to make a table in LJ. Then there will be order amidst the chaos.

I've been vidding during my lunch hour so I haven't been watching much Due South, but I did get to "Seeing Is Believing" yesterday.

And that's all I've got for now. Oh, wait, except a short poll.

Poll #732133 The DaVinci Poll

Will you be seeing The Da Vinci Code?

Yes, this weekend!
7(12.5%)
Yes, but not until the crowds die down.
6(10.7%)
Maybe. I haven't decided yet.
10(17.9%)
Not until it comes out on DVD.
10(17.9%)
Never. Unless I happen to be on a plane that is showing it.
10(17.9%)
Not even then.
13(23.2%)
The Da Vinci who?

Ah, the predictability of fandom. 6 years after The 10th Kingdom aired on television, I still get the occasional email asking me if there is ever going to be a sequel, and will I sign the petition to bring it back, etc etc. We did the "save our sequel!" routine back in 2000 to no avail; it's really unlikely it'll work now. But I am amused that people are still trying.

One of our dogs, Sydney, revealed himself to be quite the hunter the other day. Cut for the squeamishCollapse ) He looks so innocent, too.

I finally caught up on CSI from the last two weeks. Spoilers through 'Bang, Bang'Collapse ) And in other CSI news, they're showing Gum Drops for free at the CBS website. "I was rescued." *SNIFF*

I also watched the West Wing finale. It was lovely and sad and I think I might have been able to watch Santos for a year but I'm glad the show got a proper send-off.

danceswithwords - Can you believe someone agreed to marry Horatio Caine? I can buy vampires and spaceships and wolves that read lips and no one beating Horatio to death with his sunglasses, but someone marrying that pompous gasbag? I scoff.

I hope all of the mothers on my friendslist had a lovely Mother's Day, whether your children are two-footed or four. :)

My friend forwarded this to me and it is embarrassingly true.

You know you're from the Northwest when...Collapse )

Anybody know what they're supposed to be singing on American Idol tonight?

Today is my & AHH's five-year wedding anniversary. He's off studying this morning, but we're heading out to a nice dinner later this evening. Five years doesn't seem that long when taken into the context of the entirety of our relationship, but on its own it's a good amount of time. Read more...Collapse )

In other news, the Jack/Daniel ficathon signups close tomorrow.

We watched this week's CSI this morning and I loved it! Read more...Collapse )

I also may or may not have watched the next Due South episode, "Burning Down The House." Oh, ok, I totally did. Thoughts on 'Burning Down the House'Collapse )

And now, I vid until AHH gets back. Hope y'all have a good weekend!

I forgot there were things I wanted to share before I disappeared again, and found one other new thing this morning.

First, fer1213, I'm currently sitting in a very comfy pair of Life is Good pants. Thank you for the certificate! :)

50mm - got your mail, thank you! I love the little kitty.

ayrdaomei, have you heard the new Gary Allan CD yet? I just got it last night and have started giving it a listen this morning. He is all about that voice. Mmm.

For everyone, go have a look at buffyversetop5! Here's a brief description:

Buffyversetop5 is a seasonal community for posting Top 5 lists of activities for the year. Your choices for top fanfic, vids, drabbles, icons, manips, meta essays, you name it! While we all tend to rec and pimp work, the end of the year is often a time to look back and see what happened in the last 12 months and what really stands out for us. This community is a place where all those recs can be brought together and serve as a resource for the coming year.

In other Buffyverse news, fer1213 has posted the new chapter of her fic, What You Wish For. She links to earlier parts from that post.

AHH and I caught up on some tv last night. South Park was highly amusing, especially the "This is what Scientologists really believe" segment. We also watched the Numb3rs from two Fridays ago (with the dueling mathematician stuff), which I enjoyed, especially since they were playing disc golf at the beginning. I love disc golf!

I watched last week's two-parter of C.S.I. by myself in the hotel and Spoilers for the epCollapse )

I also found a copy of the new Doctor Who teaser and OMG! Mild spoilers for itCollapse )

VH1 has put together "I Love the Holidays" based on the "I Love the 70s/80s/90s" format. I am TiVo'ing it today so I hope it's good. I have high hopes.

Why is LJ so fracked up lately? I'm not getting all the userpics and no comments are being emailed to my inbox. And it's really slow. It's annoying.

Go Chargers!

And I took some pictures of Oliver before I left. These four are my favorite.

Cut for the uninterestedCollapse )

Sign-ups for serenity_santa and uncharted_elves end soon, so sign up today. :)

I think that was everything. I need to re-watch the Season 2 premiere of Carnivale before I comment on it, since I've forgotten everything I wanted to say. If I don't make it back in time - Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate! Best wishes to everyone!

Today is elisi's birthday! Happy birthday, Elisi! You're a fun and sweet presence on LJ, and I hope your day is relaxing!

I also come bearing kitten spam. First a poll, because we have narrowed the names down to four.

Poll #596071 Kitten Poll

If it was up to you, which name would you choose?

ELLIOTT
22(27.8%)
CHARLIE
15(19.0%)
OLIVER
32(40.5%)
NICKY
10(12.7%)

And pictures!

This is the reason I may not be around much for the next few weeksCollapse )

The kitten was let out around the house this morning. He already thinks he owns the place. Cairo swatted at him once without connecting and gets a little growly whenever the kitten is too near, but it's been remarkably peaceful overall. Except for the kitten spazzing out and running up and down the stairs and all over the house. But other than that, peaceful.

I LOVED this week's C.S.I. Loved. thomasina75 covers all the reasons I loved it here. (Thanks for doing the work for me. Hee.)

And a quick note on 'Survivor'Collapse )

PS - I'm home! *wave*
