DIY Chipboard Magic

Thinking Outside the Box with a Ceramic Egg Base

Sometimes the most enchanting home décor ideas begin with the simplest materials—and a willingness to think outside the box. This DIY project started with a humble ceramic egg base and a stack of chipboards, and it ended as a magical forest house straight out of a fairy tale.

The ceramic egg became the foundation of the piece—smooth, neutral, and full of potential.

Paint and texture played a huge role in setting the mood. Earthy tones, mossy greens, and soft browns helped the house blend naturally into a forest-inspired theme. Small details—like carved lines in the chipboard or subtle dry brushing—gave the impression of age, as if the house had always been part of the woods. Imperfections became features, and asymmetry brought the structure to life.

This project is a reminder that DIY Home décor doesn’t require expensive supplies or strict plans. With a bit of imagination, everyday craft materials can become something magical. Chipboards aren’t just flat embellishments, and a ceramic egg isn’t just seasonal décor—it’s all about perspective.

The Green Man – Spring in the Forest

Stepping Out of Line – Scrapbooking with Chipboards

Scrapbooking is all about telling stories,

and sometimes the most exciting stories begin when we dare to step out of line.

For this project, I worked with the theme “to step out of line”, which for me means trying something unexpected and embracing creative freedom.

Chipboards played a key role in this layout. I love how they add dimension and structure while still leaving room for creativity. Chipboard elements  were altered with Embossing powder, paint and ink to create contrast and rust effects as highlight the focal points of the page.

This creates movement and makes the layout feel dynamic and expressive rather than perfectly aligned.

Scrapbooking doesn’t have to be perfect – it should feel honest, playful, and inspiring.

A Winter Walk to Remember

Winter walks have a very special kind of magic. The air is cold and fresh, the world feels quieter, and every step leaves a trace in the snow.

On this winter day, we went for a long walk through the snowy landscape.

The soft winter colors, the frozen trees, and dog’s paw prints in the snow made this walk feel timeless. It was a simple moment, but it felt peaceful.

This scrapbook page is more than just paper and photos. It’s a reminder of cold noses and the quiet happiness of spending time together. By using some amazing winter chipboards, I was able to create depth and highlight special details on the page.

New Year Shadowbox Art: A Dark Grinch Twist ✨

New Year, new ideas, same love for creativity.
Let’s make this year amazing together!

🎨✨

I created this handmade shadowbox using

layered chipboards and mixed media elements, inspired by a steampunk style.
Gears, metallic textures, and a touch of whimsy come together to

welcome the New Year in a unique way.
Perfect for everyone who loves creative details and a little steampunk magic!

I combined the funny Grinch with a Mad Hatter from the Alice series

and designed depth, dimension, and contrast to create

a mysterious and dramatic atmosphere.

The Christmas Eve Gift Crisis

 Hello creative friends!

You always know it’s December 23rd when the mall fills with panic-stricken men

clutching gift cards like they’re life rafts.

You can practically hear the internal monologue: “Shower gel counts as thoughtful… right?”

I'm wondering how these men manage to be shocked—SHOCKED!—that Christmas is again on December 24/25th.

But fear not, gentlemen. There is a solution -
It’s called DIY - maybe Scrapbooking?!
Yes, the mysterious art of scissors, glue, and actual effort.😁

Start simple: pick a few photos, add a memory or two

(remember when you accidentally burned the Christmas roast?),

stick on a bit of glitter—voluntary, but highly recommended 😂

and voilà: a heartfelt funny gift. 🎄

The layout hangs in a central place in the apartment. It cannot be overlooked. 😉
I added a small clip where you can attach a To-do list or gift ideas.

So this year, dear holiday procrastinators, try a DIY project.
Because nothing says “I love you” like a gift

that required sitting down for more than 30 seconds.

‘First Snow’ – Creating Winter Magic with Chipboards

Winter always inspires me to create soft, cozy scrapbook pages, and my latest layout, “First Snow,” captures that magical moment when everything turns white for the first time. For this project, I focused on using Dusty Attic chipboards to add dimension and detail to the page.

For this layout I used a mix of  wood-themed patterned papers, snowflake and winter forest trees chipboards, white embossing powder, light blue inks, layered die cuts, and a cut out photo from the first snowy day this year.

Chipboards are perfect for winter layouts, because they create a subtle 3D effect without overpowering the photo. By painting and embossing them, you can match them to any color palette while keeping a soft, textured look.

I truly love how the “First Snow” layout turned out—soft, textured, and full of winter charm.
