• Roy Kent + Oscar the Grouch = the chuckle I really needed this week. Perfection.
• Gutted to hear of the sudden passing of Dallas Good of inimitable hometown band The Sadies. An incredible musician, songwriter, and snappy dresser. RIP Dallas.
• This 1982 performance of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is now handily my favorite by a long shot. It just veers somewhere totally unexpected after the middle eight. This is the kind of thing that proves how good a frontman Phil Collins really is.
• The idea of a climate shadow is beautiful but maybe also terrifying as a visual metaphor to illustrate the responsibility we have as environmental stewards.
• How the US government got hip graphic design — and then lost it. I see some real parallels to how a certain massive organization functions.
• It’s hard to argue with Rands on the things we've lost over the last couple years.
• Speaking of things lost… reading books, especially for pleasure should give us pause. (dead link removed)
• Ohmergerd, was that really Professor X?

• Curses, that Marinovich fella has made another beaut. Go check out NuForm Sans.
• Mmmm boy, Positype's new Dorset, designed by Léon Hugues sure is purty.
• I saw the British influence in Colophon’s new Forme Grotesque immediately. This could be an ever-so-noticeably modern take on street signs across the UK.
• Elena Genova has made a useful and interesting family with The Seasons that captures a little bit of that cool-right-now kind of vibe with something that might hold up many years from now. The italics are smooooooooth.
• Oddity could be an homage to the classic American baseball script style yet entirely more delicate and elegant. Dig those wavy connected baselines.
• Give me a behind the scenes of decisions that influenced wonderful and eclectic typefaces like Array from James Todd and I’ll give you my full attention.
