I was introduced to the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows a couple weeks back, and it’s something I suspect I’ll keep coming back to. Sonder (n.) immediately evokes “This is Water” for me — the Kenyon College commencement speech given by the late David Foster Wallace in 2005.

• It’s always exciting to see new type coming out of the TypeMedia program in The Hague. 2020 is no different — especially Malham and Cleft which are real bangers.
• I really like the idea of a trust battery as Tobi describes it. Equally, the jungle gym metaphor for a career is also an interesting one.
• I love Rick Griffith’s print work. Having visited his print studio at Matter, I can say with certainty that it’s a special place. And I love it even more knowing the story of how he arrived at this approach.
• We just recently started watching Halt and Catch Fire (yes, I realize we’re behind the curve), and so this curriculum seems like a timely discovery.
• This snowflake generator by Vivian Wu is very cool — and particularly impressive as something being rendered entirely in the browser.
• Apple Beige was easily one of the most important colors in personal computing.
• Jesse and Hamish never cease to impress. Great use of Signifier in this identity for Every, and equally the delightful script lettering.
• The real turning point in American politics is having dogs back in the White House.
• New Star Wars Droid stamps from the USPS, coming this spring :)
• Mmm-kay. Anyone need anything from Omega Mart?
