Calendar of Events

Drop off your teens (ages 10-14) for after-hours fun at the Schulz Museum, including pizza, games, and customized fun. Make a never-ending fidget cube, a keychain of travel games for your backpack, and waterproof stickers. Also, learn the basics of juggling with an expert, play hand-eye coordination and balance games, and explore the Museum with an iPad scavenger hunt! 

On the last Monday of the month, enjoy stories, crafts, and activities designed for children ages 1-5 and their caregivers. This month, leave the chilly weather outside and have fun inside painting a waterless snow globe, crafting a silly polar penguin, and mixing up a melted snowman sensory bag. Also, Sports City will join us for fun activities and giveaways, including free trial classes to their Lil' Athletes child-development soccer and basketball programs.

This event is SOLD OUT. No waitlist available for this event. Brownies are invited to spend the night at the Schulz Museum! Sleep over at the Museum and design your own stamp and letterbox. Then search the Museum for clues left by other troops to complete all of the Letterboxer badge requirements. Experience art, cartooning, animation, and the Schulz Museum after dark! Pizza dinner and morning snacks are included.

Meet, watch, and talk to Brian Walker, part of the creative team that produces the comic strips Beetle Bailey and Hi and Lois, and author of the new book, Mort Walker's Beetle Bailey: 75 Years of Smiles. Walker will talk about his life in comics at 1:00 pm and sign books following his presentation.

Explore over 50 family-friendly activities, including the science of animation at the Schulz Museum table, at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds.

Meet, watch, and talk to cartoonists Wahab Algarmi, creator of Town Force 1 and the Battle for East Oakland, and Dean Stuart, creator of the graphic novel Cassi and the House of Memories. Algarmi and Stuart will talk about their work at 1:00 pm and meet with visitors, and show and sign their work after the presentation.

Bring the whole family or drop off your child to make several Peanuts-inspired seasonal crafts and treats. Make Beagle Scout spring chicks, an Easter Beagle basket, and Snoopy candy huggers.

Meet, watch, and talk to cartoonist Jesse Ledina, known alternatively as AndrogynArt. Ledina is a pop culture-influenced traditional artist and digital illustrator whose goal is to inspire nostalgic delight.

Treat Mom to a special day at the Schulz Museum! Mothers enjoy free admission all day.

Girl Scout Cadettes are invited to earn their Comic Artist badge in this special hands-on workshop at the Schulz Museum. Museum staff will teach Cadettes how to develop stories and characters and create a four-panel comic strip from beginning to end while completing all five steps of the Comic Artist badge. Registration required.

Girl Scout Juniors are invited to earn their Entertainment Technology badge by completing all five steps at the Schulz Museum. Participants will have fun creating short movies using a green screen and sound effects while completing other hands-on technology challenges. Registration required.
