SCAR Open Science Conference is the world’s premier meeting on Antarctic research, bringing together scientists and policymakers interested in Antarctica from across the globe. In 2026, the 13-days event is arranged in Oslo, Norway from August 8-19.
The meeting place provides an opportunity for scientists from a variety of disciplines and countries to present their work, to network and become more involved in SCAR science activities. The 2026 conference theme is Diving into Antarctic Science – Making Waves for the Future.
The expected attendance is 1000 scientists, managers and policy makers from around the world.
