Student Networking and Mentoring ChairStephanie Dempsey, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL)
The event is completely free for student attendees.
Additionally, the event offers an excellent networking opportunity for attendees, who will have the chance to meet and connect with other students who share their interests.
During this informal event, students participate in a series of friendly, engaging conversations where they have the opportunity to learn from a variety of different mentors. The sessions are highly interactive, and students will be encouraged to ask questions and connect with the mentors. Each mentor will have their areas of expertise listed to help students identify who they’d like to meet. Timed sessions rotate every 10 minutes. Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
By the end of the event, students will have gained valuable insights and knowledge about career opportunities in high performance computing, as well as access to useful resources to progress in their careers. This event offers an excellent opportunity for students to connect with HPC experts, build their network, and gain a better understanding of their career paths in high performance computing.
No registration is required! A half hour for lunch and introductions begins at 11 am, and conversation sessions will begin promptly at 11:30 am. Sessions will be held every 10 minutes, with 2 minutes to transition. You may participate in conversations with as many mentors as you’d like.
The October 24 deadline for filling out the Mentor Participation Survey has passed. Thanks to all the mentors who signed up!
Being a mentor is a great way to give back to the HPC community. We look forward to procuring more mentors next year for SC26.
