William Matchin
I am an Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Carolina. I received my Ph.D in Cognitive Neuroscience with Greg Hickok at UC Irvine in the dept. of Cognitive Sciences, finished a postdoc with Ellen Lau at the University of Maryland in Linguistics, and finished a second postdoc with Rachel Mayberry & Eric Halgren at UC San Diego in Linguistics & Neuroscience.
My work centers around integrating the insights of linguistic theory, particularly syntax, and psycholinguistics into cognitive neuroscience. My main goal is to develop an integrated framework of syntax, online sentence processing, and neuroscience (always aim high, right? ;) ).
Supervisors: Rachel Mayberry, Eric Halgren, Ellen Lau, Gregory Hickok, and Jon Sprouse
Address: Irvine, California, United States
