Ein teleologisches Argument aus der Feinabstimmung der Naturkonstanten. Tübingen: Mohr Siebeck (Collegium Metaphysicum, 21); 318 S. mit Personen-und Sachregister. An den Grenzen zwischen Philosophie und Theologie wurde immer über den Gottesbeweis nachgedacht. Thomas von Aquin (1225-1274) schliesst aus der «zielstrebigen Tätigkeit» in der Natur deduktiv auf einen «Geber» dieser Ziele. David Hume (1711-1776) wandelt dieses sogenannte «teleologische Argument» (ein Argument aus der Zielgerichtetheit) leicht ab: Weil das Universum einer «Maschine» gleicht, muss es analog zu einer Maschine intelligent gefertigt sein: «Aus ähnlichen Wirkungen schliessen wir [induktiv] auf ähnliche Ursachen.» Matthias Schleiff knüpft in seiner Dissertation (Münster 2017) an diesen Denkmustern an. Er beginnt mit einer Kritik von Thomas und Hume und rettet den Kern des teleologischen Arguments in die Moderne. Die Aufgabe eines modernen Philosophen besteht darin, konkret darzustellen, woran die Zielgerichtetheit des Universums glaubhaft zu erkennen sei (42). Schleiff denkt, dies an der Feinabstimmung kosmischer Parameter zeigen zu können: «Ein fundamentaler kosmischer Parameter K ist «feinabgestimmt» genau dann, wenn die Aussage wahr ist: «Wenn K nur ein wenig von seinem tatsächlichen Wert abwiche, wären bewusste Beobachter in unserem Universum unmöglich.» (50) Im Gegensatz zu Begriffen wie «Schönheit des Universums» oder «Zweckmässigkeit der Mittel in der Natur» sind Naturkonstanten empirisch bestimmbare, physikalische Messgrössen (53). This pattern is combined with different motives. This paper explores the association of תוך with the "prophet(s)". In the overview, this motive combination follows the book's overall message structure and enhances our understanding of the prophetic role by spatial means.

It is postulated to read words such as ברא, ידע, בדל, and several others in the text of Ezekiel with their context in Gen 1-4 in mind. This context adds theological depth to the message of the prophet, and the reading is in line with the general message of the book.

Prophet, Language, and Liturgy. Consistent Prophetic Language in the Books of Ezekiel and Micah and its Possible Uses in Liturgy.

Recent approaches in liturgical theory propose to view liturgy as a broad concept with a formativ... more Recent approaches in liturgical theory propose to view liturgy as a broad concept with a formative intention. This concept is explored in prophetic language, observing the "call to attention formula" שמעו הרים/הרי ישראל שמעו in Micah 6,2 and Ezekiel 36,1. Similarity and difference is explored based on Bhaba's notion of Hybridization, applied to the Book of Micah by Runions (2001) and Pikor's (2018) remarks on the "Land of Israel" as subject in the Book of Ezekiel. It is shown, what effect semantic reframing does have in a liturgical context.

Biblical Prophecy between Ritual and Liturgy

The concepts of ritual and liturgy are closely related and yet clearly distinct. In biblical prophecy of the exilic period, effective divine ritual and performed liturgy appear in close parallel. Ezekiel’s intertwining of prophetic speech, acting and vision (Eze 4-11) and Habakkuk’s collage of dialogue, dirge and psalm (Hab 1-3) ground the analysis.
The study is done with particular interest in the formative dimension of liturgy in prophetic text. The analysis not only links to prophetic exegesis and ritual theory but seeks a dialogue with more recent thought in practical theology.

The concepts of ritual and liturgy are closely related and yet clearly distinct. In biblical prophecy of the exilic period, effective divine ritual and performed liturgy appear in close parallel.
