Can I dial 911 from a satellite phone?

Yes. You can dial 911 (or the equivalent emergency services number for the country you are in.)

Will the Iridium phone work everywhere?

Yes. Iridium has planetary coverage including the oceans and poles.

Can EcoFlow run an Air Conditioner?

High-capacity models using LiFeP04 batteries like the EcoFLow DELTA Series can adequately power an AC unit.

How do I connect to a Bivy Stick?

Go to the menu. Click Bivy Stick. Hit the button that says CONNECT VIA BLUETOOTH. Touch the ACTIVATE BIVY STICK button. You will then walk through the steps to set up your device and connect to the satellite network. Once your device is connected, it will show the battery power and connectivity on the satellite icon in the upper corner of your screen. You can always check your connection and battery status on the satellite icon on the map screen. Once you are connected, you will have access to all the Bivy Stick features including weather, offline maps, messaging, and SOS.

How do I make and receive a call?

You must have your power on and satellite antenna rose. The antenna must have 80 % view of the sky. Dial the number you wish to call (if number is in the US simply dial (1) area code and phone number and press send). If you are traveling outside the U.S., hold the “0” key down till you see a “+” symbol appear in the display then enter the country code and phone number and press send. To receive a call the phone must be powered on and satellite antenna raised and when it rings simply press send and answer.

Will the satellite phone work when all cellular and landline phones stop working?

Yes, satellite phones will work even when the local telephone infrastructure is disrupted. But it cannot call a non functioning cellular or landline phone in the area where the telephone infrastructure has been disrupted. It can call any cellular or landline phone that is an area where the telephone infrastructure has “not” been disrupted. The satellite phones can also call most other satellite phones.

How does EcoFlow charge so fast?

It collects each cell's temperature and power status and tweaks the charging current and voltage for the safest, fastest charging.

What is coverage like in south pacific (aus, nz, fiji, somoa, tonga, and south america, galapogous is. etc.)?

Satellite phones offer excellent coverage in all of these areas and you will experience uninterrupted service.

What is the battery life of the Bivy Stick?

120 hours with mailbox checks every 15 minutes, approximately 100 hours with 24/7 tracking.

How does the SOS work?

Global rescue handles all SOS monitoring for Bivy stick users. Once you initiate the SOS button Global Rescue will dispatch the appropriate SAR based on your location. Your monthly subscription includes dispatch for rescue anywhere in the world. You could possibly be responsible for costs incurred from a rescue and you can purchase a Global Rescue membership for additional rescue insurance. To activate the SOS on the device, pull back the red tab and depress the button for 5 seconds. The lights will indicate if an SOS has been activated.

What are the tracking intervals?

The intervals and credit costs are: 2 minutes (min) with 1 credit per 12 minutes, 5 min. with 1 credit per 30 min., 10 min. (default) with 1 credit per hour, 30 min. with 1 credit per 3 hours, and 60 min. with 1 credit per 6 hours.

How many satellites does Iridium use?

Iridium uses a constellation of 66 satellites that orbit from the south pole to the north pole.

Can you use EcoFlow while charging?

EcoFlow power stations can be used while they are being charged. The units support discharging while connected to an AC outlet, a car charger, or a solar panel.

Can the Bivy Stick be used on multiple phones/devices?

It can be used by multiple phones, but only one phone at a time. Any phone would need the Bivy App. The first phone to connect will create the master account and all billing will go to that account. Just make sure any phone that wants to use it has the app downloaded and sets up their account while in a WIFI network before the trip.

What does the Bivy Stick do?

With the Bivy Stick you can send and receive text messages, share your GPS location, Signal SOS, download offline maps, and get weather reports. It communicates directly with satellites. Because the Bivy Stick utilizes small bursts of data, no voice calls are available.

Will my satellite phone work indoors?

When using the hand held phone satellite inside a building, car, or boat, in satellite mode “without” an external antenna is not recommended. It is unlikely to function properly without an external antenna due to the fact that a satellite phone must have line of site to the satellites to establish a signal. The antenna needs an 80% view of the sky to receive good service.

What will be my satellite phone number?

Iridium and Inmarsat satellite phones are reachable through unique international codes, 8816 for Iridium, for Inmarsat it is 870. Calls to these phones from abroad will incur international charges for the caller, but not for the satellite phone user. Another option for inbound calls is calling a US domestic phone number.

How long does EcoFlow last?

Many of EcoFlow's portable power stations last for over 6,500 cycles. Depending on how frequently you use your backup batteries, it could take years to notice any decrease in functionality.

In what countries is it illegal to have a Bivy Stick?

It is the responsibility of the user to know and follow all applicable laws in the countries they take the Bivy Stick to. Some countries that we know of that prohibit the use of satellite communicators are India, China, Iran, North Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Cuba, Russia.

How long does it take to charge a Bivy Stick?

4-5 Hours via USB-C to USB-A. This time is cut down substantially by utilizing a USB-C to USB-C charge. If you charge from a USB-A transformer, then it will charge at 0.5 Amps. If you have a USB-C Transformer and cable it will charge twice as fast at 1.0 Amps.

They're lightweight, long-lived, and safe to operate indoors.
