SaskAlta uses permanent and temporary high density polyethylene (HDPE) piping to support all dredging, pumping and fluid transmission applications.
The desludging process begins with the dewatering of the lagoon/pond(s), then agitating the residual, creating slurry. The slurry will then be pumped from the lagoon/pond(s) and then disposed of through land injection, geobags, or a centrifuge.
Using Hydrographic Survey Equipment, SaskAlta is able to analysis the data, calculating volumes and producing a 3D image of the lagoon/pond(s).

SaskAlta can accommodate the hauling of both liquid and dry biosolids. SaskAlta is equipped with a variety of trucks in its fleet that are capable of hauling the biosolids to their designated locations.
Geo Bags are proven to be one of the most effective methods of dewatering, using an intermittent filling and drying cycle. This method eliminates seasonal restraints that occur when using the Land Injection method.
