Human capital theory, social capital theory, and disadvantage theory are used to explore immigrant entrepreneurship and its understanding as a migration research field worthy of more attention. Design/methodology: A systematic review of the literature is used, selecting articles from Scopus, Jstor, Elsevier, Research, Web of Science, Google Scholar databases, Taylor & Francis Online and Google's search engine. The studies obtained between 2000 and 2021 were screened, and only those measuring the entrepreneurial spirit of immigrants on the basis of gender were included in the final data set. The revision of the selected paper provides deductive perspectives on a common trend in immigrant entrepreneurship from a gender perspective.

Is flexibility a dual mechanism? Evidence from the Hungarian food industry, 2023

The food industry is considered one of the best industries and the performance of food industry undertakings accounts for 2.2% of Hungarian GDP. Food companies make up the third-largest manufacturing sector in Hungary. This study aims, therefore, to investigate the impact of operational flexibility on the performance of the Hungarian food industry by considering environmental uncertainty as a moderator. The research is cross-sectional. A customized questionnaire was used to obtain primary data. The questionnaires were distributed to a purposive group of managers, and there were 301 valid replies for statistical analysis. The findings revealed that operational flexibility has a beneficial impact on company success, while uncertainties in supply and demand do not have an effect on this link.

The priorities of the recycling system include waste minimisation, reuse, remanufacturing and improvement. Innovative methods can therefore be integrated into factories to ensure waste is used to feed energy systems, rather than them exacerbating deforestation. As part of the research presented in this paper, we examined the impact of sustainability factors within Hungarian food companies, Industry 4.0 tools, as well as other factors that support or hinder business performance. The article aims to present the tools used for evaluating the efficacy and competitiveness of the business models of Hungarian food companies within the context of Industry 4.0. The questionnaire survey was conducted between 2019 and 2020, during which data were collected from 276 food companies. The data were subsequently analysed using a broad range of statistical methods, including Cronbach's alpha index, factor analysis, K-mean clustering, oneway analysis of variance, cross-tabulation analysis, significance-effect matrix, Fornell-Larcker criterion, composition reliability index, and for the PLS path analysis, mean explained variance index, heterotrait-monotrait ratio, and predictive relevance. Researching sustainability factors is a means by which to strike a balance between economic, social and ecological factors so that a company can be efficient, effective and functional at the same time. Sustainable Industry 4.0 is an area of research that has yet to be explored by food companies.

To achieve the aim of the study, a qualitative research approach was applied with well-known statistical analyses. Descriptive statistics were applied to determine the characteristics of variables. A correlation matrix shows the relationship between variables, while explanatory factor analyses were employed to determine the reliability of the variables. Ordinary least square regression analysis was used to emphasize the relationship between the role of leadership and different functions in high reliability healthcare organizations in Turkey. It has been found that the role of leadership has a positive and significant relationship with organizational...

Although the economic effects of migration increase the efficiency of labour markets, some governments have rigorously rejected solutions proposed for the current refugee crisis. Meanwhile, immigration policies have recently become stricter in several OECD countries. Based on this conceptual framework, several labour market institutions, such as a minimum wage, unemployment benefits, union density, and active labour market policies etc., are analysed in the context of enhancing the employment of immigrants. In order to support the findings of literature this paper concentrates on the determinants of immigration tendencies and dynamic regression models analysed to clarify how these institutions can affect native- and foreign-born migrants. Hence, our results also highlight that various reforms need to enhance the efficiency of labour market mi...

Over the centuries millions of people have migrated, despite the physical, cultural etc. obstacles, to other lands in search of better lives for themselves and their children. In the context of development, globalization and labor market mobility, it is necessary to further analyze the determinants and consequences of migration not only on the host country, but also on the sending country. The increased interest and availability of data keeps this subject in the attention of economists all over the world. In this case an increase in immigration became very significant issue for policymakers. The aims of this study are to describe immigration growth tendencies and to answer how much is the average growth rate of foreign born population. Thus, in order to measure the native and foreign-born unemployed migrants, twenty-seven OECD countries were used in this research paper.

The study extends the current research by focusing on how the educational attainment of international migrants and the gender dimension affect migrants’ occupational status. To achieve the aim of the study, a quantitative research approach was followed. Ordinary least square regression analysis was used to emphasize the relationship between educational attainment and gender differences, and occupational status. The databases were taken from the OECD DIOC 2015/2016. It has been found that high-level educational attainment matches with representative vacancies, and female migrants tend to have those occupations more than male migrants in OECD countries. On the other hand, the study’s limitations included a lack of data on testing the exact occupational status of migrants in OECD countries, as well as educational attainment levels that were not specifically...

for healthcare. Particularly, to avoid spreading the Coronavirus pandemic, release the
stress among healthcare workers, and make them work effectively during the epidemic,
high-reliability healthcare organizations give great importance to the improvement of
their functions. This study aims to show the importance of high-reliability healthcare
organizations comparing their effectiveness during a pandemic by applied qualitative
research method with many statistical analyses. In order to achieve the aim of the study,
a Likert scale survey technique is used to collect the data by using an online survey.
280 healthcare workers filled the survey from January 17, 2021, to February 22, 2021.
Based on the outcomes of the analyses, it has been found that such functions as shared
knowledge pattern, provision of self-care, awareness of the coronavirus consequences
at the workplace of high-reliability healthcare organizations have a positive and significant relationship at p < 0.01 level with taken appropriate measures against coronavirus variable. Self-awareness of organizational role, organizational resources to provide
safety, flexibility of work, environmental safety, and collective mindfulness do not have
any relationship with the appropriate measures against Covid-19 variable. This outcome indicates that shared knowledge pattern, provision of self-care, and awareness of
the coronavirus consequences at the workplace have a more important role in combating Covid-19 in high-reliability healthcare organizations.

THE ROLE OF REGIONAL DIFFERENCES IN IMMIGRATION: THE CASE OF OECD COUNTRIES, 2018
Despite physical, cultural, economic and other obstacles, millions of people have recently emigra... more Despite physical, cultural, economic and other obstacles, millions of people have recently emigrated from one country to another in search of a better life. Consequently, the importance of this research topic has grown over time. Analysis of this regional approach is based on the OECD censuses, and its unique Database on Immigrants (DIOC), which makes it possible to generate a wide variety of cross-tabulations on the characteristics of asylum-seekers by the country of their birth. The aim of this study is to contribute to literature by analysing the role of regional differences in migration more closely in terms of the importance of migration regulation policies in the OECD countries. According to the results based on Binary Logistic (Logit) and Linear (OLS) Regression models, the educational attainment, age, sex and the place of birth of migrants are related in different ways to their region of origin. Moreover, male migrants are more skilled than females, migrants who are more educated are older than the less skilled, and foreign-born migrants seemed to be older than native-born migrants. There is also additional evidence suggesting that different regions and countries might follow different policies and norms for admission of migrants. Therefore, forthcoming migration governance programs that aim to facilitate the labour market integration of migrants should also take into consideration their regional characteristics.

However, according to the International Labor Organization (ILO), today 40 million people live as a slave. Moreover, modern slavery is the world's fastest growing crime and has huge number, which never occurred in history before. One of the main limitation of the existing literature on contemporary slavery is that it ignores the history of slavery either entirely or alternatively between past and present. However, this article aims to figure out the role of modern slavery, also recommends some suggestions to governments to solve the problem of it. The aim of this paper is to addressing to the modern slavery policies in a conceptual perspective. In the theoretical framework of modern slavery, rational choice theory, conflict theory and human security theory have been selected to describe the sequence of modern slavery

Over the centuries, millions of people have migrated, despite the accompanying physical, cultural and economic obstacles, to other lands in search of better lives for themselves and their children. Currently, the number of people living outside their country of birth is estimated to be over 180 million or 3 percent of the world's population. Consequently, in the last few years the growing awareness of migration flows has focused on the gender perspective. Gender, in this case, refers to the norms, behaviours and expectations associated with being a female or a male immigrant. The aim of this study is to find out what gender differences there are in immigration in the OECD countries studied. According to our results, in the labour force women migrants are fewer than men. Thus, female migrants are more inactive and less employed than males. Moreover, the male migrants' educational level is higher than that of women. Our conclusions also allow policy makers to identify potential needs for reforms, in relation to specific features of migration policies, and provides some evidence about which groups of migrants are in need of supplementary supports in other social and economic contexts, as well.
