Criminal events described by the press as related to "insecurity" take up important sections in newspapers or TV. Cases such as the kidnapping and murder of Axel Blumberg, Candela Sol Rodríguez, or the latest Chocobar case, were highly mediatized. Analyzing media discourse is very important when studying how, from a spectacularization point of view, news carrying meaning are published, and start shaping the opinion of the society regarding the public, the private, and the individual. This does not mean that, as audience, we believe everything the media tells us to be true. However, it should be considered that media presence in society is significant and that its discourse, to some extent, shows signs of the different problems the society is faced with, always from a biased and political perspective. This paper aims at explaining how, from the analysis of Minister Patricia Bullrich's statements about the Chocobar case, it is possible to find traces in favor of the new security paradigm that was established in Argentina, from the beginning of the current government.

La crítica de la razón instrumental, el dominio del hombre por el hombre, y el empleo de las fuer... more La crítica de la razón instrumental, el dominio del hombre por el hombre, y el empleo de las fuerzas de producción para el control de la llamada sociedad industrial avanzada, son algunas de las temáticas claves del pensamiento crítico desarrollado por el filosofo Herbert Marcuse, teórico de la Escuela de Frankfurt, en el periodo posterior a la segunda guerra mundial. Este contexto de cambios marcado por el avance del modelo de capitalismo estadounidense, es a los ojos del filósofo social Herbert Marcuse, un sistema de dominación que controla y coordina no sólo las necesidades vitales de los individuos, sino que los limita en su libertad de ser, los somete y reduce a la condición de objetos a través de las fuerzas de producción. Marcuse, en su libro El hombre unidimensional (1984) desarrolla una crítica detallada desde una teoría heredada del marxismo, donde además vincula la teoría freudiana como un retorno a la explicación psicoanalítica de la falsa conciencia y la manipulación ideológica del sistema dominante, caracterizado por el autor en la cita introductoria. En este punto, se analizarán algunos de los postulados del autor, con las teorías desarrolladas por sus predecesores de la Escuela Crítica: Max Horkheimer, Theodor Adorno y Walter Benjamin.
