3D Printed Mold for ear prosthesis

タイトルが英語のわりに本文は日本語です。

かねてからの念願だった、エピテーゼの型を３Dプリントで作れないか・・・

最近デザインソフトにもだいぶ熟達してきたので、以前成し遂げられなかったことに再挑戦。

途中昼寝もしましたが、あれこれ結局１日かかりました。

なんとか形にすることができたので早速プリントしています。

テストプリントなのに、無謀にも精密モードを選んだので結果が出るのが約６時間後です。

この耳の形をベースにしています。

土台がこれ

上の部分は２分割になります。

これにシリコンを詰めて重合終わればこうなるはず

で、土台を外すとこのような耳のエピテーゼになるはず。

まだ当分は石膏で型を作るのは捨てきれないとおもいますが、３Dでできる道も開発しとかないとね。

もしかしたら教材で使えるかも・・・

結果はまた明日。

3D Design Ortho model

3D scanned data editing

I uploaded movie of step by step editing 3D scanned data.

This is from conventional impression with alginate material.

Remove many bubbles befor 3D scan.

and...use desk top scanner.

Wax pattern from digital analyzing

I uploaded the video on Youtube last time.

I was thinking about the process of analyzing and designing the epithesis in 3D, and then finishing it up.

I wish I could print it with silicon or wax on my 3D printer, but I can't do it with mine.

The final positioning and fusioned with the skin tag was printed with resin.

Make a silicone mold of this...

If I put this mold onto the skin tag model, it provides space for prosthesis.

This model should fit well with the model...

It matched... as my expectation so far.

Pour the melted wax into this,

While the wax is still melted, cover it with the model.

Looks like it went well.

I wish the wax pattern removed from the mold will match the model perfectly.

The question is whether the patient will be satisfied by trying this on the actual area.

The skin tags are slightly lower and more forward.

I've adjusted the size of the wax a little to take that into account, but what do you think?

Digital planning ear prosthesis

I scanned these model casts with using the desktop 3D scanner to convert to digital data.

Here it is.

Usually, skin tag is located bit lower and forwarded.
It makes some difficulty to create nice mirror image shape from the other side.

I did simulations and positioning in digital.
