Not any reports at the Cubans or Yemenis electronic journals were founded. This observation in conjunction with the not patognomonic way of presentation and rareness of the lingual Schwannoma, motivated us to report this case. Objective: to present a case of rare oral tumor, with uncommon tongue location.

Objective: this study was done with the objectives:, to characterize the sample socialdemographically, to classify lesions topographically, to determine effectiveness of endoluminal diode laser sclerosis in the treatment of low flow vascular malformations, to determine changes in diameter and lesions presence, to identify accidents and complications. Method: a study of cases was carried out in 12 patients of the total of patients who attended with the diagnosis of low flow vascular malformations, at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry "Raúl González Sánchez", from October 2011 to February 2012.The patients were treated by endoluminal sclerosis with diodo laser. Was assessment age, sex, area, diameter, and lesion presence chronologically. Results: 12 patients was studied, the 66.7 % of the sample were female, the 33,3% of the patients were with age among 30-39 years. The 50% had regression of lesion after one session of treatment. The complication most frequent was swelling. Conclusions: the endoluminal laser sclerosis was a safe and efficacy method to treat low flow vascular orofacial lesions.

Introducción: los trastornos temporomandibulares se asocian frecuentemente al hábito de masticar ... more Introducción: los trastornos temporomandibulares se asocian frecuentemente al hábito de masticar qat, pero se carece de estudios que detallan sus particularidades, por lo que se realiza este trabajo, con los objetivos de determinar la prevalencia de trastornos temporomandibulares en pacientes adictos al qat, identificar los hallazgos clínicos-radiográficos asociados y clasificar los trastornos temporomandibulares presentes en la población estudiada. Métodos: se realizó un estudio prospectivo, descriptivo, de corte transversal, en una muestra de 352 pacientes, del total de pacientes adictos, atendidos en el Departamento de Cirugía, Colegio Dental. Ibb,Yemen en el periodo octubre 2010abril 2011. Se determinaron los hallazgos clínicos y radiográficos presentes, y se diagnosticó el tipo de trastorno temporomandibular. Resultados: se evidenció que estaban afectados por trastornos temporomandibulares el 55,7 % de los pacientes. Se encontró dolor articular agudo en 14,1 % y aplanamiento condilar anterior en 35,6 %. Conclusiones: los trastornos temporomandibulares afectaron más de la mitad de la población estudiada, adicta al qat. Los desórdenes en la relación cóndilo-disco fueron los más encontrados (41 %). El aplanamiento condilar anterior dominó en el análisis radiográfico.

Se presentan dos pacientes portadores de prótesis dental inferior, de nueve y diez años de uso re... more Se presentan dos pacientes portadores de prótesis dental inferior, de nueve y diez años de uso respectivamente, los cuales comenzaron con molestias en el reborde alveolar. El examen clínico y la biopsia por ponche diagnosticaron un carcinoma espino-celular bien diferenciado. El tratamiento incluyó cirugía radical de la lesión, del hueso mandibular alveolar-basal y radioterapia postoperatoria en el primer enfermo, y exéresis de la lesión, del hueso alveolar mandibular solamente, más radioterapia. En ambos enfermos se encontró xerostomía como secuela de la radioterapia y en la primera trastorno masticatorio por la resección ósea. Se discutieron los inconvenientes de las modalidades de tratamiento, se insistió en la prevención como la forma más eficaz de tratar el cáncer bucal. Se presentaron tres casos de niños con edades que varían entre cuatro, cinco y seis meses de edad... more Se presentaron tres casos de niños con edades que varían entre cuatro, cinco y seis meses de edad, con el diagnóstico de Síndrome de Caffey-Silverman o hiperostosis cortical infantil, que solicitan consejo médico por presentar aumento de volumen facial, fiebre e irritabilidad, fueron tratados como otra afección y fueron finalmente remitidos a cirugía máxilo facial, donde fueron diagnosticados y tratados sintomáticamente, con mejoría clínica evidente. Se discutió la sintomatología, exámenes complementarios y conducta a seguir ante esta enfermedad.
