While the Moho depth is relatively constant below sea floor, it varies by more than 70 km below continental plates. The Moho is the boundary between the Earth&#8217;s crust and its mantle. It is defined by an abrupt<\/strong> <strong>density variation of rock causing a change in velocity of&nbsp;seismic waves&nbsp;as they pass through the discontinuity.
