So, DreamWidth is opening up soon. I have no invite code, so I have no journal. Okay.

Now, out of curiosity, a poll:

I've been joking for months about going to see the Twilight movie. Now, the opening weekend is fast approaching, so I'm trying to get a feel of who'd actually be interested and has time to go see the movie.

I work Friday and Saturday, and get back around 7pm, so Friday or Saturday showings would have to be around 7, 7:30 or so. Sunday I'm free all day.

If I've missed something, comment. :D

I had an amazing weekend, y'all! I think that if I had to choose between Yaoicon and BAScon, BAScon would win-- it's smaller, it's quieter, and, like ladyjax said at one point, it's sort of like the family reunion at Thanksgiving.
(This is not to say I didn't enjoy Yaoicon-- there are a few people on my friendslist who should know just how much I adored seeing them. Just that BAScon was more of the fun stuff without some of the stressing that I dealt with at the other.)

Also, I would like to note I'm keeping the BAScon panel writeups for possible bidding at Yaoicon next year. There were some AMAZING panels. Specifically, I'm thinking Rebecca's (blueraccoon, I think) "Religion in Slash" panel, Lady Ra's "OTP" panel, coniraya's "(Internalized) Misogyny and Slash", and ladyjax's "Livejournal and the Limits of Online Fandom". Of course, I need to ask their permission to steal the ideas, but Y-con is overdue for something a little bit more serious. (Of course, there's always the "Club Denial" panel-- "D.L. Is pining for the fjords and Connor Kent is NOT DEAD.")

There was one black mark on the weekend, but I'll deal with that when I've put some time between me and the issue so I can look at it clearly without spazzing the fuck out the way I did last night.


In other news, I won a vid from the lovely and very accomodating Chicafrom3 at Sweet Charity this year. I had a specific idea (because she was the only person offering Dresden Files fandom stuff), but then i got into Heroes and she does Heroes vids too. And now I'm all flustered and don't know what to request. So you guys should help me.

I have three ideas, but two of them don't have song choices.

Also, I know there are other ideas, and y'all should provide me with them. And music.

I was going to say I couldn't think of anything personal to write about (but I would be lying.) It's really just that I was watching Power Rangers last night when I realized that it was IBARW. So now I want to talk about race and Power Rangers.

But I was talking to dragon_momma yesterday about what the Impala would look like as a human, and she disagreed with me on a few salient points (the biggest of which is that she thinks the Impala is a boy, but the Impala's being female is non-negotiable.) A few tweaks to the story thing that may or may not exist have made me a little wibbly on her appearance too.

So I'm wondering how the rest of you see her.

According to bloodsin, our fic "sucks like a Russian whore." comixologist told him not to talk about Piotr that way.

Also, amusingly, despite the fact that neither of us really spoiled ourselves to coming episodes, our fic ended up with a similar plot to next week's episode. Heh. I should work for Kripke.

I'm getting tired of just cooking for parents.

I want to do a dinner party. (Okay, so I just bought a French Bistro cookbook... >.>) Who's up for it? I'm thinking the 14th or 15th-- my parents will be out of town, so I have the run of the place.

So. I broke my iPod.

About a month ago I found out I'd screwed up the inside of the headphone jack on my iPod (I was using gigantic studio headphones.) I brought it in and the dudez at the Apple store went all Superman and fixed it for me. Fast forward to now-- my headphones stop playing out of the right ear. Since headphones just tend to die around me, for whatever reason (I've been through three pairs in about a month and a half...) I sighed and wandered off to buy a new pair. Low and behold, the right speaker wasn't working on that one either.

So when mom got home and decided "Hey, you got new shoes from Hot Topic, I want new shoes from Hot topic!" I wandered into the Apple store to be all "Hay guyz, fix my fragging iPod." To which I got the response "Is your playlist backed up on the computer? Here."

So I have a new iPod, and GIR's gone (along with half my episodes of House-- I'm lucky I didn't cull the rest of my vids, the way I was planning to). Now I need a name for this guy.
