Oh hey, bitchin'!

Looks like my community (topmodel) is going to be on the LJ spotlight thing the week of the 20th.

It's going to cause more work for us, of course. God knows I'm a really hands-off mod generally-- but, you know, community about a modeling show. It gets catty on occasion. Sometimes more than on occasion.

Not to mention we moderate posts and ATM a few hours worth of mod queue is still seven or eight posts-- not much in the scheme of things, but enough to be a nuisance. An influx of members is going to make dealing with the queue FUN. (We have an internal rule that when we reject a post we have to explain why-- this means posts sometimes languish for a couple of days because none of us want to either let them through or explain why we're rejecting it.)

This isn't to complain, BTW, y'all. I think it's pretty damn rockin' that we're getting spotlighted the week before the ANTM premiere. Not to mention the LJ spotlight person offered to either spotlight the week before the premiere or the week OF the premiere, which was awesomesauce of them. We went with the week before, to give newbie members some lead-in before the show, and in hopes that the n00bs will settle down before the show actually starts. Hooray new members! Boo having to actually mod. >.>

So, the other night, scootermcgaffin IMs me to ask: "Is it bad that I'm shipping Megan/Michelle?"

I told him it most certainly wasn't (and even less so after watching them interact on the show). They're both hot.

And you know what? They're both lesbians. And out. Megan told AfterEllen that she and Michelle were both out, and that a number of the girls on the show were bi-curious. Also, Megan is also not a bartender-- she does film production, which is kind of neat.

I have no hopes that Megan or Michelle are reading this, but if you are: Girl, call me!

I've figured out where these recurring headaches are coming from. I need new glasses.

Also, I love my nMage game. jhyanmar seems to be favoring the snark for this game. Also, I get to play the combat monkey (next XP he gets more weapons skillz and some Dex. And then! More strength! And brawl! And... maybe some medicine.)

The chicks on ANTM this season are kinda hot when they get to the photoshoots. jhyanmar will just say they need sandwiches, though. (Best line of the night: "They were in the hot tub and I was definately seeing some boob. It set me apart from them... [dramatic pause] Because I got nothing. [GRIN]")

I kinds like the blond all the way on the right, but jhyanmar is going to say she needs a sandwich.

About five minutes ago I learned that my mother had a blowout on the the freeway and went spinning. I am told she is okay, though, so no worries.

On a different note, OMFG I MUST HAVE THIS NOW. Elyse may be scrawny, but she is both wise and sexy beyond all belief. Christ.
